why repatch to check shard?

why do i have to download 26mb patch data every time i try to check if the shard is open again?

it takes long time for me to check and must cost lots of money for the isp, cranking bandwith from others and such...

hmm i dont seem to be having this problem o.0 my game starts perfect each time

hmm, seems to be a technical problem as i still have to re patch every time i try to get into the game (currently about 14 patches been applied, total of 1.1gb data(?))

someone can move this to another forum

When the shard is closed, just leave your screen as it is:
As soon as the shard re-open, the "shard closed" message will not appear anymore and you will be able to log as usual...
Dont quit if it is close, leave it like that and try again later..

(hoping I did'nt miss anything and didnt gave stupid answer to very complicated question

)..
