12/14/04 patch login trouble

Post by gfunk200 »

After i finished patching today i was unable to go past disclaimer page and got the message error: shard is closed. Yet the ryzom website said it was open. I restarted my pc and tried again without success....any advice how to solve this problem?

Thanks

server is still down for patching while they work out any kinks in the servers that weren't forseen to bring the patch up to par on the live servers. At least that's what I'm guessing.

I'll bet the devs are playing on it right now, with out any people around to bother them. Sorta like open empty playground.

They need to make a new status for this. So that players KNOW that the server isn't open to login or what have you. It's rather annoying not being able to look and tell if the server is available or not. Everything you can see on the server status page and the client say it's online and ready to go, yet...no login possible. And...no indication of how long it'll be down. That is one nice thing they should do...give us a 'server will be down until (estimated time it will take to fix things and check things)...and having a status like 'locked' would let us know that they're still working on it.

Download the Klient chat program and you can quickly and easily find out what's going on with the servers.

I couldn't agree more and have already posted on this in several other threads. BTW, Cerest agrees with us on this issue and has said that she requested that the "server status" link be reworded, so that it more accurately reflects what's really going on.
