Crafting [help required]

Ok !

I have quality 20 crafting skill for armour i get a light vest i add q30 mats all are choice trying to make a better item the "loading bars" show that the item is a perfect slashing protection ... when my item comes out its slashing protection 9 .... and the % is like 4. something ......

ime lost ... what is taken into account when forgeing the stats / % of protection of armour as i thought it was just mats ? mabe there is a quality level cap ?

With craft 2 (ql20) you can't get anything better than basic and fine, even if you use better materials. To get the full use of choise materials you need a least medium quality craft plans (level 50 I think).

The title of the item, in your case "slashing protection" is the higest feature of the item, i.e. with other material combenations you can get sap load, damage etc.

Procent (%) is how well it covers and hence how good is at resisting damage. So 4% is quite low, medium and heavy armour have much better protection.

Try using different materials in your craft window and see how the stats changes in the craft window.
Also right click on materials, where you can see what properties they have. Some are better at some things and less so with others.

hmm as far as i can make out with crafting the bars in the bottom of the screen are a percentage of the stat that you will get so if you make some pants with 99 in the protection factor they will have 99% of the max protection you can get on that item dependant on its quality lvl if you use excellent materials or above you can actually get one these bars to 100% with all supreme materials you can get most of the bars close to 100% maybe 1 or 2 of them at 100%
