Is there food or drink in the game?

So far I’ve seen bartenders, but no actual food or drink (and the bartenders didn’t seem to do anything, either).

I don’t necessarily think it should be required to survive or even stay healthy, but just for the fun of preparing/eating/finding food, I think it should exist. What if it had a beneficial effect on you (even if ever-so-slight)?

Maybe there already is and I just haven’t seen any, but if not, are there plans to add it?

nope, no yubo-steaks as of yet, tho i heard rumours about beer existing in the database, and that it was used once during an event =)

The barmen give you quests in patch 2

Food who needs it. Just one more thing to carry. No dont want food part of the game.

After having played MUDs and everquest for years, I considered this a bonus. Food and drink quickly turns into an annoyance that you have to deal with every time you play. I thought of it as another anti-stress thing in Ryzom, to go along with not having to recover your corpse, not having long recovery times for groups or raids, etc.

IF food and drink enter the game...they should be a voluntary thing. Something for RPers to enjoy when they wish to. I agree, EQ style food was a pain in the sit-upon and being a former EQ mage that was nothing but a freebie food/drink/item despenser...I got sick of that role.

HOWEVER, if food and drink came into game with the role of "potions" then I personally would pick up a spit and start to gather up Yubo for Fajitas, kabobs etc. I would think that foraging would also end up with some things like "peppers", "carrots", "rosemary" etc. I think if the ability to eat or drink something and gain a temporary buff came into game, that both those MAKING the food and drink, and those BUYING the food and drink would be happy. BUT...the idea of manditory food and drink JUST to function normally should NOT be added.

the way it manages food is easy to understand and even fun, and food also has a meaningful value in that game, it keeps you alive
