Last time I checked the mats that are pulled in the roots are q200 - q250.piknik2 wrote:Oh I forgot... I should level my fight and magic to 250 first so I can then go into PR and possibly forage some q50 mats.

Which balance problems are you referring to? Since you seem to be flaming everyone else's opinions, lets hear yours and have a good debate on balance.plarfman wrote:I do beleive these changes we are seeing is to fix the balance problems.
And last time I checked you can't realistically harvest anything above q60 if your PR level is at the base of 50.raynes wrote:Last time I checked the mats that are pulled in the roots are q200 - q250
Re: People should really get used to this...
Let me elaborate, then. Before patch1 there was a general consensus that the game was too easy. Then patch1 came out, and increased the difficulty so drastically that a new player starting out in the newbie area couldn't even kill a suckling yubo. Then within a week they veered back to make it somewhat easier. Now they appear to have veered back in the other direction to make it more difficult. BTW, the changes don't only apply to fighting. Drastic changes to foraging also seem to be occurring regularly.plarfman wrote:sorry if my ranting upsets you but personaly from everything I read the majority of people who are complaining about these changes should not even be in the places they are in mainly the PR. Lets face it when this game was released we all had it easy.Going places and gaining lvls was a cake walk. Now I dont know what this crazy see-saw is your talking about sure there are some issues but nothing that can stop you from playing the game. I do beleive these changes we are seeing is to fix the balance problems.
Now this stuff may be fine during beta but once the game goes live, people expect fine-tuning but not these kind of drastic changes. I will repeat what I said before: a "let the sissys leave" attitude will not ultimately work to the benefit of this game.
BTW, what makes you think that your "ranting" "upsets" me? I have way too many important concerns in my life to be upset over this conversation.

As I see the world of Ryzom is constently changing and is effected by the players who play it. When the game was first released do to several advantages in the game it was very possible to acheive High Lvls very very quickly and as stands Lvls go by rather quickly if you know what you are doing. Now there are No dungeons or things of that nature in Ryzom at moment only the mainlands and PR to adventure in. Now the PR is as I see it suppose to B the most difficult place in the game, home to the Kitin armys ect.
Lets for the purpose of understanding say that Im a hunter during WWII and Im on the Allies side the Axis Side being the Kitins in the PR. Now I want that deer (forage point ) that is standing in the middle of the Axis Home Town. I couldnt possibly expect myself to just waltz in there everyday to shoot a deer and not expect them to shoot back at me.
Your argument is that there are to many Mobs in the PR and that You and others as Harvester cant just waltz in there to get what you need.
Mostly Im just ranting because its been a long day at work but zumwalt had a good post about why the PR is suppose to B hard http://ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7679&page=7&pp=10
note: I do agree that some of the spikes in the game have made me grit my teeth but today I shall play the fanboy and b an annoyance to you all

Wondering what happened?
Beaujolais Noeveau was released November 17. This Patch was probably coded about the same time.
There you go.

Well if you waited to go into the roots when you were actually suppose to, your PR level would be at 200 or 250. Why? Because at certain points all types of harvesting skills jump, no matter if you have trained in them or not.usinuk wrote: And last time I checked you can't realistically harvest anything above q60 if your PR level is at the base of 50.

So your trying to say that at some point your PR harvesting level is going to magically jump past level 50 where the foraging tree splits?raynes wrote:Well if you waited to go into the roots when you were actually suppose to, your PR level would be at 200 or 250. I needed a good laugh thank you!

Wh- what?
You must be really high level forage then, because at my relatively low 114 jungle, not one of my other forages has moved unless I've gone to a different location and worked on them. My desert forage has stayed stubbornly at L68 despite my attempts to raise it on Kipee Mull harvesting jungle mats. My friend who is approaching 170, maybe 180 by now, jungle forage by now has worked for every one of his PR forages.
Forage seems to be like every other skill. If you use a high level skill on a lower level ability (such as a q150 pike when you have L100 pike skills but L150 sword skills) you get lots of fails and misses. That's why they are in completely different trees. You don't get XP for them unless you practice them.
Now, if you are L200+ and it changes there, I stand corrected. Aside from a bug, I have seen how harvest works up to L170+ and that has not happened.

Re: People should really get used to this...
First split at 51 is only split for jump on any tree branch.
When you hit 51 and it splits, each category is immediately 51, everything from that point on is earned.
He is right, if you enter the roots when your designed to, you would atleast have the skills to earn the PR harvest points fast and level it fast, because you would have alot of bricks that would help in the process.

Skills, yes. That I can understand. I recently took up magic and my L25 offensive magic XP gathering is much helped by all the benefits that L143 melee has given me. I must have misunderstood. I thought he was saying that the *levels* would raise automatically.
