New Patch - What's in it?

So, can we get any idea of what the patch will bring? I understand the prolonged downtime is due to more than just the patch, but still.....No doubt there will be more to the patch than just the packer fix.

You also probably need to remember that the GMs and North American Staff are all in North America, whereas Nevrax is in Paris. 6hour time difference from the Eastern Time Zone. Maybe it's not that the North American's haven't been told the information, maybe it's just that they get it at 4a.m. when Cerest is probably sleeping.

That's the only thing that could make sense to me. Plus, Cerest did post yesterday.

Server Maintenance 12/8/04

On Wednesday the 8th of December, all SoR server will be taken down for a patch from 4:00 am to 12:00 pm EST.

This patch is exceptional longer than usual. This is due to the fact that we will be doing hardware and software updates prior to the patch.

We are sorry for any inconvenience that may cause.

Yes, thanks for that link.

On a semi-related issue: on the ryzom.com page, there is a link to "server status". In my experience, it always says windermeer is open even when it's closed. Either this should be fixed, or the link should be removed. Yes I do realize more accurate information is available in these forums, but that's not the point. The "server status" link should be a quick way to get the information, but if it's inaccurate then it's of no value at all.
