Game screen to big for monitor

How in the world do u change the game screen size to fit a monitor?
i cannot even make my first character to play. i see a big"?" in the middle of my screen and thats it.tryed to change the setting but nothing happened.pls email answer. thx!!
ps would still like to try the game

Hi. You'll need to raise your desktop's resolution to 1280x1024 or higher to get Ryzom to display correctly.

If that does not work you can also run the program, ryzom_configuration_rd in your Ryzom directory, and under Display set the program to run in windowed mode at a resolution less than your desktop (800 height and 600 width is a good place to start).

THX!! my desktop res was 800x600 i raised it to 1152x864.then windowed the game to 800x600.THX again!!S.Shaw

I have a friend who is having the same trouble.He say he can't see the whole screen it seems the right side of the screen is missinghe see's no compass,target,or,the menu below them.So he is gimped and can't play he says he tried the method posted here to fix it,but when he changes his monitor rez the in game configure for screen rez only shows what monitor rez he has it set to and so does my game.Now my question are you saying to take it off full screen mode and run it in windowed mode all the time or just till it is fixed?Oh by the way i run in 1024x786 and have never had a problem so maybe that the minimum rez for play.Oh he also says his mouse keeps disapearing for up to a minute or 2 any idea's what might cause that?

You can try replacing the radar and set them to the correct place..
