High foraging

as you get higher foraging is it harder to get lover level items?

because all the low level items keep blowing up on me now i have like 13 foraging

You need to seriously look at care plans as you increase forage.

if your lvl 13 in forage then its all low level items...

the sources do blow up, so use gentle actions or care plans if you want to minimise the risk. also do look at the foragin guides in the forums, they are really helpfull..

i use gentle rate, gentle speed, harmfull quality and i normaly get about 2 mats until i need to use my care plans to avoid explosion or source depletion. after that i get another 2-3 mats. im lvl 54 forager.

Agreed with the previous posters. You get granted a "no-harm-done" bonus as a neebie harvester until you reach level 10 or 11. Did you notice the change in source modes while digging? When you were <10 you're sources' modes had been in the range of 11-15, now that you're a bit used to harvesting, your sources will have modes ranging from 0 to 5.
If you do not want your sources to harm you or innocent bystanders once in a while, you'd have to dig with gentle extraction actions, use source care when it's needed and, of course, always watch the life and explosion bars of the source. If you want to play nice with the Kami , cancel your extraction before it's going to deplete or blow up, even.
