Now I have seen several naughty remarks in this thread:
"Beware, I'm coming in."
"I'll give you access to my ftp."

To the guy that uses to game when his SO gets out of work/bed:
This is very bad! The result is that she thinks that you will game whenever you can and you do not think about her in any way. You say you have 30 min b4 she comes home? Well, instead of gaming, prepare dinner. Spend some QT together and she will happily let you game for the rest of the night.
When you get up early so you can game untill she comes out of bed, and you know at what time that will be, do the same. Prepare breakfast (or pretent to do so *just when she comes out of bed* and have breakfast together.
The point is that a spouse will like 30 min time spent together *without having to nag* much more valuable than 3 hours after she pulls you from behind the screen. Trust me on this one. She just wants to be sure she comes on the first place, not your computer.

Now you may ask me why I am single. Let just say I learned this the hard way...

When do people play Ryzom and how do they get around their partner screaming "Get off the computer" all the time?

I work 8 hours a day and travel 2 hours each way to work, by the time I get home I have about 3-4 hours a night in the weekday to do stuff. If I want to sit and watch tv thats fine - but if I want to go in the computer room and play Ryzom I get yelled at after about an hour or so ! But by this time I have usually just hit a really good part of the game - like I found a great team to join or I am almost to the next level.

On the weekend I have till about 11am everyday as thats when my other half gets up. After that I have no chance - I have to wash and cook and clean...

She has made it clear she is not interested in playing it either !! or in me playing it !! hehe !

Does anyone else have these problems and what is the solution !

Phew !

Been their done that.....TWICE!.. Mate..You are never gonna plz the other half (Wonder if the Female players of Ryzom have this trouble with their other halfz).
Now i live by myself and can do what i like when ever i like 4-8hrs play time nice...ok ok i can hear it You sad-o......But i don't give a flying f
Work hard-play hard...lol.
It's not easy because this type of game takes your time up.....you do need to spend 2-4 hrs a day on this type of game to get the skillz up!..so all the best to thosez who have partners who nag them..Remember you are not alone.

Hans1976 your insights were extremely helpful and this morning although I got up really early to play I made a point of rushing back into the bedroom when my other half woke up and I stopped fighting in Ryzom so I could make my gf a cup of coffee and some toast !

I think the rest of the team was a little bemused as I kept checking in at various stages with I've made toast, just need to add butter and jam, and then I told her I loved her and she loves me too !

But it worked very well as she didn't bother me again until 3 hours later when she wanted to go shopping !

Thanks Hans :) :)

But then you might miss out on marrying someone like me who will bring you drinks and snacks while playing. On the flipside I suppose he ends up fetching me things once in a while too. One of these years the kid will be old enough to train... ;)

Same problem ...

me + wife != 1 PC :(

Strangely we actually talked about it and decided the next PC would be a laptop with wireless so I could play on the lounge while she fell asleep next to me. They're strange creatures sometimes...
