i haven't visited other lands much since i first saw this but it started in the lakelands after that server instability a couple of weeks ago. when i was finally able to log on the number of mobs of all types had at least doubled in the lagoons of loria (lakelands borderland for those who don't know). at first i though the mobs had just moved or something that had to do witht the server instability had caused it. but yesterday it seemed that the main lakelands mob numbers had doubled as well!
so is it mating season or something?
if this was a purposeful change shouldn't we have been informed even if it was just a server side change? not blaming cerest or anything though. she keeps us pretty well informed on what she knows.
i am also not saying it was a bad thing that it happened. we could deffinantly use more mobs to make sure everyone can get a good fight in. more mats and exp for all! i just wish they would let us know about these "little changes" inteads of "meh... they'll figure it out".
its kinda like someone fiddled witht he light switch while you were working on the socket. they don't feel anything but we sure as hell nottice.
i usually read the patch notes pretty well and i don't recall any statments along these lines. if i missed this little tidbit than my bad.
are there more mobs in lakelands or is it just me?

Re: are there more mobs in lakelands or is it just me?
Well, didn't the patch say in general that the animals got crazier? I mean, I read it as they got harder (which they did), but when they fixed the WAY-too-hard problem they might have made more animals in general. So instead of 1 supercharged yubo we get like 5 reasonable yubos. That's just my guess though!

Re: are there more mobs in lakelands or is it just me?
could be, but since the notticeable increase in mobs was't after a patch i would think it was just added. probably in preparation for a growing player base. the only thing that happened that day was the server kept going down. i would think that the new mob population had something to do with the instability.phalanxe wrote:Well, didn't the patch say in general that the animals got crazier? tyrker has mobs in it?
i'm usually too busy swimming to actually see any mobs
tho in my wanderings around i haven't noticed any larger amounts of mobs around any of the lands
i think they've shifted where mobs appear so it migth seem there's more of them when really there isn't, just they've moved from where they used to be. not all mobs but just some

Re: are there more mobs in lakelands or is it just me?
population growth is in every zone
what was more supprising after last nights patch was a bodoc near yrkanis that someone hit, was hitting everyone around it, now bodoc have AE melee with range up to 15 Meters
although I couldn't understand how this one star green bodokin for a level 20 warrior was hitting me for 60 damage when i was harvesting 15 meters away
actually, it is very logical, the growth of creatures based on current storyline with the goo
however, this is also a good test for growth for the raid system
they can see how much the server AI can handle before it pukes
