If, by chance, I should find myself in PR again, and this has been implemented as fully open pvp, I want a damn flag that says I can't be attacked! I want pvp immunity, dammit! I left daoc because the lvling grind was getting to me, and I was never enthused with the realm vs realm that was forced on us by game design. Some of the best places to lvl a 49.9875 was on the frontier, but heaven forbid there should be an entire battlegroup running at you, who were minding your own business simply killing aggressive mobs. I've been ganked too damn many times in that game to really want to go back, nevermind I'd be so limited in what I could do.

Please, Nevrax, PLEASE, don't make PR open pvp!

This as already been done and failed because some PKer had friends or guilds supplying them, they didnt need to go to towns. But like I said the way the dev make it (not open everywhere) as a better chance of success then in any other game because of the community.

I think this might be a good idea, or maybe make automatic immunity if you've got a foraging title.

I don't care for pvp. I have been looking for an attractive fantasy MMO for a while where I didn't have to deal with it. I thought I found it with SoR, but if an open PvP is introduced, I will go elsewhere.

I have played other PVP games, I have yet to see it implemented in ANY way, successfully, other than mosh pitt/gankfest. And the mentalities that it takes to tollerate such environments is not this game.

I abhor PVP as I have seen it implemented in other games. It is a My **** is bigger than yours bragfest that wastes HUGE amounts of gametime. If I wanted that kind of immaturity...I would log onto one of the Zeks in EQ, but I would rather drink a glass of Lye! thank you!

The case is simple for me:
Open PvP is bad, 'cos 99% of people will simply avoid theese zones, so they are only a waste of resources. I suggest making "arenas", where you can engage in duels (or whatsoever) in a controlled enviroment.
But Guild vs Guld or Kami-fans vs Karavan-lovers is a different story! I came to Ryzom partly because this was promised. Sieging/defending outpost would be a GREAT thing to play! So I would implement this, ASAP! But someone said this before me...

My opinion wasn't really here, so I'll post. I wouldn't mind PvP at all if it were in only some of the regions of any given land type.

One certainty about this patch as it stands now. the language will change. I already see carebear used in this thread, then someone replied blow me. Havnt seen pwnd yet but Im sure its coming........

I voted No 4. -avoid roots

Making ALL the root areas open PvP ALL the time is not a good idea imo either ,id much rather see only one or some root areas being designated open PvP at a time.

There could be a sys info msg when logging on and when ever the zone changes (10 mins prior to?) to another area plus a red? overlay colour on the map -next area yellow? . Both harvesters/travellers and homins looking for some action would be satisfied by this scheme -imo :p
