That's because a bunch of idiots will whine that they are getting shafted because they aren't doing the PvP.

Many of my companions left after patch 1. Their primary concern was the lack of content that was already half finished. The first among these concerns were the outposts and anythign related to guilds.
They coudl script a guild mission in ten minutes, and program it in a couple hours if they wanted to. At least it woudl be something
The reward I speak of that was promised before the release of the game even is this whole outpost thing.
They are there. They have been there. They look like ruins.
Now months and two major patches later they will still just be some pointless ruins. And fame is still some pointless number.

Unless you're like me and many in my guild, who have just lost their spawns in the lakelands because of getting +fame for the Kami and -fame for the Karavan.
I also managed to gain a Prime Root spawn near the Pyromancers camp because of my high Kami fame.
I also have spawns in Zorai now, whereas before I did not.
Yeah, pointless.

jesus h., amazing how people only see the bad things when they don't want to see anything else, ACTUALLY patch 2 is gonna introduce content for both factions:
1. pvp for the killers, and it is implemented in a manner that does not give them an edge by gaining xp or loot
2. quests, specifically the rites in the encyclopedia

All i want is some good ACTUAL quests that i can do solo and with my guild. As for PvP, GvG, I think they should take a hint at Shadowbane how they do it, and in the "real world" , if you kill someone and they have their best equipment on and lots of money, oh well too bad for them, they are going naked and losing money.
Now, for those carebears out there. The quests should be designed so they can reap some rewards themselves, that you couldn't get in a PvP situation. That's all I have to say.
PvP= rewards or just leave it as it is.
Quests= solo and guild quests with very nice rewards.

Why does pvp mean rewards?
PvP is fine, so long as it isnt forced upon me, and as long as the experience/enjoyment itself is the reward. I see no need to allow looting of corpse, and what are you going to get in this game that you wont already have?
One idea I would support is a ransom idea... each person has a ransom which they lose to the victor... but money isnt worth that much either...
So back to doing it just for the fun...

If I kill someone in pvp it's because I have some good reason to want them dead. Their death serves my purpose and I'd expect nothing more as a reward.
It's bad enough that people come up to me and ask me to kill them so they can respawn at a more convenient place. I don't want people spamming me with requests to take turns killing each other so we can both get xp for it.
I don't really object to a reward system for casual pvp so long as the reward:
(1) is not unique (like Realm Points in DAoC which you MUST pvp to get).
(2) does not give you xp, dapper, or loot faster than pve.
Pvp related to guild quests and story-events is a different matter. This is pvp with a purpose. I think any activity which advances the story line should be well rewarded.
