News: Patch One & Patch Two Info

Post by Satchi »

Patch One includes:

Player Vendors (NPCs you can offer your goods for sale through)

Theme Music

Magician Glove

Mounts for the GMs

Tuning and balance for magic users – less expensive spells, a refund for certain spells, will need to redo some purchases & stanzas to adjust.

The world becomes a more dangerous place. Creatures have their own agendas. Be careful. They just got a bit better organized!

Patch One is heading to the Advanced Test Server (ATS)soon...

1-2 weeks after landing on the advanced test server – Patch One goes live!

Patch Two is scheduled to follow one month later (Note: might be 5 weeks)

Patch Two includes:

The Encyclopedia

Quests will begin to appear

Rewards are revamped (special items… cool stuff)

In Game extra Chat channels (please give us feedback on what is needed other than AUCTION)

Player Mounts

More Story elements…. (no spoilers… good stuff though!)

You will start to see some divergence among the races abilities. (big hint here)

Possible Patch Two Content: (time dependent)

The cosmetic skills branch (tattoos and hair to start)

Thanks for all your input guys. We do appreciate it!

Well, that all looks pretty good :-)

*begins to drool in anticipation*

With regard to the chat channels, how about skill specific channels, such as a forage channel, magician channel etc so that people have somewhere to go to ask specific questions relating to each of the skillsets?

Yeah, i`m impressed, some good stuff being implemented :)
i like the sound of creatures being more dangerous, better rewards.

Lazarus also makes an excellent point in regards to skill-specific chat channels, we definately need those.

Great that we are being informed too.
Keep up the great work. ;)

Excellent news. Player vendors will bring a sigh of relief to my crafting minded friends. They were wondering about the lack of any market tools.

I have to say that patch contents address quite a few of my concerns with the current game (not that I don't enjoy it but things I noticed were missing and thought should be added soon). I can't wait for Patch 2 and elements of the quest for the bigger picture to be put in place.

Chat channels:

Any chance of Ryzom implementing player chat channels like EQ or SWG do? You create a channel with a given name (password protected or not, although that's not a must have feature) and other players can /join the channel.

This is, IMO, more efficient and flexible than Nevrax trying to create all kinds of premade chat channels and allows like minded individuals (alliances, professions, people partying together, friends, ...) to meet and reinforce the feeling of community. Maybe a longer term development goal?

Hopefully this is in addition to fixes for the few bugs that still remain?

Are the vendors for individual players or for guilds only?

With regard to chat channels, I agree with Wendelius, would be very handy to be able to create your own private channels. That feature got used a lot in SWG.

I would like to add my vote to the user created private channels. I must admit I forgot all about them in my other post.

I think there is a place for both pre-made channels (somewhere to talk about specifics) and player made channels in any MMOG. Tells are fine but have their limitations IMO. Private channels have many uses, such as organising groups during raids, or for members of different guilds to talk about things without having to broadcast it to the general population.

I must say that in my view, Earth & Beyond had the best chat interface I've seen in a MMOG. It was similar in a way to the 'user' view we have currently, where you can monitor multiple channels and select where to send your chat. I've included a link to a small screenshot of the chat channel select interface from E&B to demonstrate the point.

These patch notes seem nice, mostly the Patch 2 ones... but then, I seem to remember that the mounts and quests were promised for the release.
Not that I mind, but the manual looks so ridiculous, w/ stuff that isnt in yet.

Any ETA as to when the hawkers will actually WORK ?

Lol i will be happy when things come out one thing i really miss is a active BUG list so that i can check what bugs to submit and what not, i send TON of mission bugs so that i really don't know wich one i have submited and what not :D .

Im assuming that all this "little" fixes will come out with 1st patch becose this probably is related only to mission team and is more or less they will be able to test them better i cannot wait to check it out !!

Cheers !!
