I wish there was. There are no lower level Karavan groups in Witherings.neiana wrote:Can't you find another tribe to test with? How about the Goo Heads? Or do they give you nothing? Take a group out and kill some Black Circle maybe? I dunno... Got to be an easier way than waiting 'til a certain level.

and i dont know what you guys are smoking, but maybe only a couple specific green seed that i havent found give me kami fame, cause all killing them does for me is make me lose tryker, matis, and greenseed fame
Err, you do have the kami mission requesting you kill them, right? Because that does give kami fame, I'm pretty sure.
I admit, I really only checked my karavan fame, but that defintiely gave the 'down arrow' sign when I completed the greenseed mission.

<shrug> Then I'm an idiot. Thanks for yelling at me. Wouldn't have been clear otherwise.

Re: Frustration and Disappointment
Actually you would have had to read through all the other pages of "we had such a rough time getting Kami during the event" and "well wtf we couldn't have won no matter what you kami hosers" rot and been able to see the "missions take forever, yet they get fame quickly without a mission" comment that was randomly placed once or twice in the entirety of these last 7 pages.tinpony wrote:<shrug> Then I'm an idiot. Re: Frustration and Disappointment
Ummmm, actually this post was about getting large amounts of fame during events and people getting the same benefits as those doing jobs.amitst wrote:THE POINT OF THIS POST IS GAINING FAME WITHOUT DOING MISSIONS
So the point of this post was actually my concern that someone could do an event, get tons of fame and recieve the same benefits as my 2 months of hard work.
I did a test tonight. I went to the AntiKami camp and hit one of the guards. I did get some damage and I had no change in my fame at all. So you have to at least kill one to get fame. I can't test that yet.

Hey everyone guess what? I'm a Kami Champion! neener neener neener

Jungle Thug, Ninja Forager, The Kami Champion who took a -164 personal Kami fame hit thx to the Fleeting Gardens fame bug (and cancelled my Ryzom account in protest).Re: Frustration and Disappointment
Actually, since the event took place, I have not done a single mission from any town, I see no point in it any more, its just a waste of my time.
There is really no need to waste hours on end doing missions from town, wilderness, or otherwise, knowing that at some event, the fame I want, I can get with just maybe 3 hours of my day.
I spent every night from day 1 of release working on fame, and all of the people at the event got a fame boost equal to what time I have officially wasted, and I do consider it now wasted time.
Looking back, the event was a good idea, it got people rallied for common causes, it was just the twist with the fame boost that blew it for me.
Yes, I was very personally offended by this, and think it could have been handled differently or more gracefully by the event coordinators.
We have all learned that in Atys, things are ran by the shake of a hip, there is both good and bad in everything they do, but, all of these things look amature, meaning that in time, I guarantee they won't be making the same mistakes again.
Were dealing with a new crowd of event coordinators, presumably, people who have never done this kind of work before, nor do they understand the dynamics of the game for them to make such a blatent mistake.
So lets give them some slack, move beyond this for the moment, its pretty much a dead horse with alot of angry people.
Lets just hope they learned there lesson from this event, and maybe the coordinators will play the game some to learn the current dynamics of the game, and find a way to balance the system better.

I too have spent alot of time building fame by doing mission, I have planned and worked on specific tribes and racial and religions fame. Balancing each, doing my best to ensure that each worked either in the guilds and my favour.
The Event which I only had chance to take a small part in, did also give some fame, Primative Necklaces traded for fame.
I have enjoyed all the work I put in and am not envious of others who have gained fame from the event. I know what I have done has made me happy and I have had fun doing it and made a lot of dapper and fame.
I do not currently do missions, the money missions no longer are cost effective. The Patrol missions from tryker no longer give me Tryker fame.
Until I find that the mission system returns to being rewarding, They serve no purpose.
Fame gives me no dapper benefit, it nolonger reduces cost, as far as I can tell. It is better for me to collect my own materials, or buy other peoples materials and sell my goods to players or direct to the NPC.
The fame systems does not stop me talking to Karavan or Kami, and only appears to effect tribes with which I have negative fame.
This however has not stopped me enjoying a great game and has not stopped me having fun.
