Big thanks to the Ryzom webbies

Post by kibsword »

Big thanks to the Ryzom webbies who quickly closed down the site and found the opening within a few days. And also for bringing us back the forum complete.

And a big what a <insert profanity> to the stupid person who decided it was "cool" to hack the ryzom website.

The good thing about open source software is that holes are fixed quite fast.
The silly thing about open source is that those holes are very well documented.

If you dont (for whatever reason) update your software as soon as the patch comes out, something like this can happen.

Still, keep up the good work and keep using open source stuff!

It was probably some whiner who quit after patch 1 ;)

*just so that no-one thinks I meant it that way, I do not think that all whiners are dumb/petty enough to hack the website*

Just one thing before everyone gets too bent out of shape patting them on the back... anyone else noticed that passwords are now out of sync between the game and the forums?

Is it meant to be this way, or will the forum be updated with the same password I use for the game?
