This is simply not true; especially with tonight's event, you cannot say this. Over the past two days, different tribes had been amassing in Tryker and Zorai lands, and this came to a head tonight. Many, many players came from Matis to Tryker to be a part of this; I don't know what happened in Zorai lands, but there was either 1) greater participation, or 2) better organization, because the Kami supporters (most of whom come from Zorai and Fyros) are the ones who cleansed Atys of the goo that was driving the tribes to invade.

What happened tonight and yesterday is content. Kidnappings, invasions, assassination attempts have all happened and are all content. Static world? No. Invasions and assasinations are not static; they are dynamic. A Karavan ship showing up over Widermeer in the Lakelands and deploying a recruiter is not a static thing. Seasons changing are not static. No other MMO that I know of has that feature, and, personally, it was one I expected when I first stepped into AC2's Dereth. When it wasn't there, I was like, "What? It's summer here all the time? This is stupid."

As far as being geographically limited b/c of aggro: it sounds like you are a casualty of patch one. Things have changed and exploirng is possible once again. In Lakelands, today I went and explored Dew Drops, which is crawling with aggro Ragus. To get to tonight's event, I (lvl 49 melee at that time) and a lvl 30 mage fresh from Newbie Island threaded our way through Cloppers and Goari in Darkmoor to the portal that leads to Bounty Beach. We traveled, and we are by no means "Uber."

No explorable regions? Have you looked at the map? I zoomed out and took a look at the world map this morning. Huge. If you ran through it without stopping, I would imagine it would take five or six hours to make a circuit. Again, the region-spanning pilgrimage to get to Fyros was an all-day event. That's the surface areas; below that are the Prime Roots. There's an isolated area called Nexus that is reachable only by traveling through the roots.

Same land mass? Again, untrue. The concept of Atys is that it is a living planet that grows, like a tree. There are many places where you can see it branching out overhead. I believe that these branches will either a) become new lands to explore or b) eventually form a bridge from Atys to one of the two other planets seen in the night sky. Atys is only the first chapter/planet in SoR. Future expansion packs will have new worlds to explore, and new races as well, from what I understand.

So, I disagree with you.

This is a great comment Sprite! I'm so glad guys that you start coming to the questions area and posting your opinions, :)

Ryzom doesn't have quests yet but they are going to be implemented soon. Even without them, the invasion event yesterday was awesome. Too bad most of the karavan (trycker/matis) high level players took this as an opportuinity to explore the new harvesting spots since there was no DP. We couldn't smash damn tribals (about 60 people we were)

Hmm...it would seem that some people just couldn't resist, Sprite ;)

I love this game aswell, I've read a lot of threads, certainly not all, I have a day job you know :D but I did get a sense of what was going on.
There is this whole generation of people who only see what is directly in front of them and either agree or disagree with that. After Patch One, so many people totally freaked out, end-of-the-world like ...

I played this game since the last open beta, and I've seen some changes in my time. Some of the friends I've got to know ingame have been around since the first open beta. One thing you learn from all that is, things change all the time. No change is permanent. After Patch One, a lot of players gave their opinion to the devs. There was a quick response, and a quick patch.

Everyone develops a certain way of doing his or her things, your own personal 'modus operandi' hehe.. But after a change of things, it seems your old way of doing things isn't practical anymore, and you need to adjust/adapt. I like it, that's what keeps me exploring. My personal view is that the majority of the complainers simply hit a wall because they didn't adjust their ways, and kept repeating their old patterns, which weren't practical anymore.

Ryzom is a very nice game, with astonishing graphics. it's the kind of game that makes you upgrade your hardware :) The fury of the flamers would almost make you think that, secretly, they have fallen in love with it aswell. The freedom in the game is very pleasant. How many times haven't I read in MMORPG descriptions that you can do anything you want and in the end you're bound to classes. In Ryzom you can make a char that can reach max levels in every possible skill, time permitted of course. You can define your own actions, the way you like them. If you want to cast magic attacks as fast as possible, remove the time-credit-stanza. Or you want maximum range? Then remove the range-credit-stanza. And if you want both, then only use HP-credit-stanza and sap-credit-stanza. It's the amount of freedom that makes a great experience.

I would certainly advise you to try out this game, and see how you feel about it. I'm happy I did. Ryzom is a gem. Hope to see you ingame ;)

I want to point out one line item here. The original poster assumes that many of us who are unhappy with Ryzom have never played. That is a totally flase accusation and merits a response.
Thank you for just proving the point that you were trying to argue about. You haven't played the game recently, so you are unqaulified to comment on what it is like; there have been so many changes recently (due to player requests) that the game you played is nothing like the game I played today.

What's wrong with you people? Can't read? Or are your emotions still so strong that you can't let this one thread slip by? I thought this was a nice initiative from sprite, and I certainly gave my opinion.
Well, anyway, to each his own I guess and best wishes to all, no matter how you feel, or think about things!

EDIT: I'm just going to start a new thread with my comments, needs to be done with people claiming the game is still in a bad patch-1 state.

For many people who aren't pure healers, aelvana, it is.
