Here it is:
Graphics- believe it or not are a big part of any Game nowadays and I had the graphics settings maxed... They are decent... about the same as WoW, but less cartoony... Give the graphics about an 8.5.
Mechanics- not the best... The "balanceing" that most people are upset about... well they have a reason to be upset... The major challenge in any fight is LAG... 6.0
Bugs/lage lag is horrible... I know it is not my pc nor is it my connection... I play off hours and know it isnt due to over crowding or server load either... The Bugs are there.... the ranged/teleporting mob thing... The quest NPC's not giving quests... and various other annoyances... 7.5
Content- as a newb it is not there... Don't know where it is or when, but newb island is a yawn... 0.0
Overall as a newb... this game scores a 5-6... Just not impressive at all sofar...
Recommend to all newb's... take at least a small harvestor kit during char creation and harvest until you make enogh cash to buy a decent wep. Then start your adventurer career...
I would also like to remind everyone that is on the 14 day trial thing, that they have to cancel the account even if they choose not to buy the game and provide a new cd key... in other words, they will lock you out of the game without the new cd key, but they will charge you for the subscription anyway... So be aware of this.
On the flipside, I think either I am going to go back to UO after a 6yr absence or purchase WoW... I know Wish Online is going to open beta in january so I am hopeing that all the beta date pushbacks are worth it and that Wish is an actually finished product when it's released.. *crosses fingers*
My first impression... and yes, you care:)
Re: My first impression... and yes, you care:)
Hello.
You say the graphics of the game are beautifull. So, you saw the sky, the trees, the towns, the landscape, the lakes, the sunset, and the unique monsters, never sawn on any other game, film, books, comics or anything. All thoose ARE content.
I admit there is no "personal" content such as quests or whatever, but what is the most important? Achieving a quest to obtain points there and there and/or an object, or meeting people and making any hunting a quest by itself?
Whatsmore, what you are waiting for is coming. I don't think it is absolutely necessery to enjoy the game, but it is coming.
I really love the game, and feel sad reading you. I wish to you a nice Wish, and hope one day you'll come back to Ryzom and find it more suitable for your playing style.

Good, fair impressions, only a couple of things to add.

You say lag is horrible and you know it's not your pc or your connection or over crowding or server load. I didn't get lag so either you are on a server not local to you or yes your computer is having problems running the game at the level you have set your graphics.
Mission npcs will give missions when you are at the level to get them. Stick to the first town you go into after the newbie island and you can do the missions there until you are level 50 in something, then you can move on to the next town and do those missions there!.
Quests will be introduced in patch 2 I believe.
People should listen to the harvesting advice, it is a very GOOD way to make money before you hit that mainland.
oh and I played the first wish beta and while it is an ok game the controls and movement is highly annoying. Just not flexible enough. Point and click.
