Hello everyone !
Yes that what I learned during my life span on Online Games ..
If you see the devloping company do patch so and often then they care, and we as players all what we want is someone who care and lestin to our needs not much to ask, lots of a strong relationships behind monitors have been broken due to lack of care from other games devlopers, they really don't care about your relationships with others, all what they want is your hard earned money, by the end we struggle to keep them around, but who cares !?
Yet I'm still on free trial on SoR but I noticed 3 total patchs and that a huge sign they care, in some how patchs are not that much for some players even me, but good thing they care and they are working, and I'm looking forward for major adjustments that what players need on a balance way ..
but Nervax need to remeber that we back her up now, we may not back her up in future vise versa, therefore if players notice careless devlopers,GM's they wont hesitate for a sec to bag their stuff and find someone who care !
Till then keep up the good work Nervax we still have faith in you !

Theory: Patch=Care !
Re: Theory: Patch=Care !
yes, but unfortunately, care is not = to competence. Nevrax have shown a severe lack of judgement imo when they introduced patch 1, which devastated the playerbase and made the game dull. Now that they are slowly fixing the major issues, many players are realizing that there is nothing to do in the game.
Grind, the occasional event, and some more grinding. Well its just my opinion though
of course they care. if this game flops, Nevrax are most probably out of out market.

Am i supposed to write something witty here ?
Re: Theory: Patch=Care !
I agree with alajmi, some really good points. SoR has amazingly good devs and GMs, problems are usually sorted and implimented quickly and content is being continually added inline with storyline.
I often find myself torn between things to do ingame, its so fun

Re: Theory: Patch=Care !
I think Nevrax are doing a good job all in all. My only criticism would be that they don't make use of the announcements forum often enough or in a timely way. That said, the speed in getting out patches to fix problems has been impressive.
In my previous main MMO experience (AC) the devs would only fix something if it was a serious exploit or totally game breaking. I remember a patch where they introduced new ammo - players could buy the crafting supplies from the npc, craft the item and sell back to the npc at a big profit even as a level 1 character. Some people macroed the hell out of it making ludicrous amounts of cash (thus throwing the economy into chaos) but the devs decided to leave it for a month before fixing it. They also borked the loot system when they said they were "improving" it and their response to complaints was "It'll be alright in 3 months time when we've finished".
On top of Nevrax's fast patches/fixes I hear good things about the CSRs in general. I have only had to report something once (the mat stacking bug) and I was answered within 2 minutes of making the report. I was expecting to wait half an hour at least, so I was wholly impressed with the response.

Re: Theory: Patch=Care !
pcheez,
Care is the most important factor on my gaming, it's up to you if don't consider that as a major factor but remain as a fact ..
and as I said they working yes may be not major but they working ..
kibsword,
thank you for your agreement mate, that's the spirit !
hugorune,
thank your for encourging mate, and yes Turbine dosen't care anymore only a money drain company ..
me as a former AC2 player I've a 68-69 Sorc, been there for more than 16 months but my WOW factor start to fade, lots of my freinds left, they ignored lots of players, yet look how the population on the servers CE server only 10 players in peek time !
and they killed the players by announcing the x-pack by stoping a 3-4 months patch, content and add them into an x-pack how amazing !
besdie Turbine working on AC,AC2,D&D,MEO ROFL not sure how they manage the time to take care of all of these games !
in result of that lots of players left, and you can see that on official forums, or IGN forums !
that what I call a careless greedy company !
and regarding the announcement I strongly agree that they should let us know in advance what and about, but I give them an excuse as they working hard enough to cope with us that they don't have time to announce !
thank you all for your time to respond

Sums up the situation pretty nicely. I would add to this the effect of the vicous cycle of more and more people leaving or not logging in or just to pop in / pop out.
Following Situation:
Logging in, taking a look at the friendslist, noticing that almost everyone is off, getting depressed, logging off again, thus not being available for others that might log in later, which makes them depressed and logging out too, etc.

Weird, unless its the dead of night my reasonably sized friends list seems to have pleanty of ppl online, and not just the same ones either (of course weather they have me is a sign of being liked )
Indeed the population of Matis seems to be increasing over time.

Same here Kibsword,
I always log in and at least 4-6 on my freind list most of them on my guild, as an example we hunt in Thesos last night for around 3-4 hours, then a trip to Tryker and was a blast and got a chance to see that hard promised land !
Create a char and go to newbie lands and see the community always increasing, yes in some how some ppl still living in the shadow of the patch one and they need to get over it by a way or another !
have a nice day !
Re: Theory: Patch=Care !
I whole-heartedly agree with this theory.
There have been a number of wish-list/recomended items that have been implimented in the game.
The vendor system(which they may have had in development for a while, or not)
Crafters name on items(much to some peoples dismay, it could still use the option of it)
additional descriptions on items (would still love to know the parry/dodge mod though )
The auto-fold on the action page
The quantity of landmarks you can have on the map has been increased.
Content is there, much of it is hidden/dormant and you have to find it. Some isn't. Some is coming. Some is player driven, some is dev/gm driven.
I'd like to think that they do care about the game, and the players enjoyment of the game. And patching so often is a sign that they do care.
