1h can't keep up with the dmg of a 2h weapon.

But as mrozzy said, combined with a stun or slow, it might tip the balance.

Anybody know if the "ignore armor" stanza also applies to shields?

You are missing an option (or more):


"Ranged weapon"
or
"Artillery"
"Rifle"
"Pistol"
or split artillery up even further to launcher/autolauncher

Personally, I prefer my Q60 Modi Rifle, looks kewl, has decent stats on the rifle, ammo still sucks for damage.

My Modi Zorai Bowrifle looks the same with a few extra screws in it. I don't like it much.

I like the sword shield look so I level in that primarily. and the pick.
