Few suggestions for the Devs

Post by biggen »

Hi all
This is my first post here and I just wanted to make a few suggestions that I think would help this game

First give the option to make your helm viable or not…like a check box in the info window or something so I can see my pretty hair =P

Second add a dyeing option into crafting like in Asherons Call 2 cause im sick of having like red pants and a green top…

And last but not least make it some when people sell the same item to the store at a different time make it stacks with the items already there. Every time I open the store I almost freeze from 900 ones and two of the same item from the same people

That’s it please have fun flaming me and calling me a homo for the armor things =)

1) Helm visibility
If you want to see your hair, take the helm off. There really shouldn't be the ability to wear something and not see it.

2) The colors of the armor in game is dependant on the mats used to make them. So if you want a different color item, then you have to find out what mat will produce that color. I'm not sure if someone has taken the time to figure out what mats produce what colors... sounds like a good project though. :)

3) If I sell and item to a store, then later return to sell more of that same item, it should stack. If it doesn't then that is something that really needs to be done. (I honestly don't know as I haven't paid attention).

4) No one will call you a homo for anything. We are a very mature community. :)

I think he's talking about different people selling the same item. Stacking those would cause all sorts of problems, though.

A very rough guide to colours:

Basic/fine harvest mats have colours: Beige, green, turquoise, purple
Choice/Excellent - main land mats: Blue and Red
Prime root mats: Black and white

Mob mats can be any of these colours.

Note this is a very rough guide.... only armours can be coloured atm.

From a crafter point of view majority wins when it come to colour. Colour with the highest number of mats dictates the final colour.

No, he's talking about items sold by the same person.

I see this too when I sell items for resale, then look at what I am currently selling. I see the same item, same ql, listed over and over in the quantities I sold it to the vendor. Now and then, in order to reduce clutter I will buy the items back (funny, when I buy 10 stacks of 1s & 2s they end up in a single stack in my inventory) and then resell them so I have only the single larger stack in my list of for sale items. It seems really silly that I should have to be bothered with this.

1) Helm visibility
This attention to detail would be nice. There doesn't seem to be any physics to the hair. My pony tail sticks straight out when I prospect, instead of just rising along my neck. It would be cool if it swayed in th breeze or jumped about when I ran. But I'll live with the plastic hair since this will only cause more lag.

2) Color of the armor is dependant on the mats used. Dyes to create custom colors or even more styles of armor would be an added plus. Check out http://www.ballisticmystic.com for game info. Some good stuff there and even better on the way.

3) Stackable Items sold to the NPC vendor don't stack due to the time stamp. I've taken extra time and bought back multiple stacks and then placed them on market. I take care not to get older stacks since the time stamp doesn't reset.

4) Name calling is discouraged...

If you look at the "Your Sales" Part of an NPC's goods, they dont stack either. I would guess thats due to the 7 day period and the items being put there at different times. You can buy them back, stack them in your inventory, and then resell them and they will stack...I believe with the shorter time period. As long as there is a 128 item limit,Id just as soon the 7 day period were gone. Id rather have my mats stack, and limit myself to 128 items. My .02

I'm going to change the title of this thread to "A few suggestions for the Devs." Since the GMs do not have anything to do with the suggestions the original poster stated.

I would also like to see a separate "dye" type of material that can be used in crafting to override the natural color of the materials used.

When I'm constructing my armor, I do so almost exclusively focused on getting the best stats for my style of combat. As such, I'm invariably led to a specific material and, therefore, am always wearing red armor.

By adding a dye material, you allow people to use the materials for the stats they want as well as customize their appearance. This certainly doesn't go against the "reality" of the game as the use of dyes exists in very primitive societies and would certainly be something our Homins are capable of.

Further, medium quality recipes could have 2 dye slots and high quality recipes could have 3 dye slots. This would allow you to control the secondary and trim colors too.

I think the use of dyes could be optional. Just add the extra slot at the bottom of the crafting window. If you don't put a dye there, the armor comes out the color it would in the current system. That way, nothing really needs to change in the quantities of mats needed to craft or the system for calculating the final item stats.
