more accurate downtime estimate please

Post by helbreat »

why is it that the gm always say less time than the server is actually gonna be down? shutting down quickly for a 30 min patch that has so far taken 3 times as long as said please dont go in to the delivery service youd go bankrupt within the first year for delivering stuff a week behind schedule. at first i thought that the fixes would fix what patch 1 destroyed but the last 3 patches i dont really see any change with combat as metioned in the patches. my months free trial ends quite soon and without seeing improvment i also think my subscription will too alot more peoples subscriptions will also follow. ok you still have the die hard brown nosers who will be here even if they can only gain dp just to poke there nose in a bit further but for me and a lot of people i know the fun is dying out and so are the subscriptions

the game wasnt ready for live in the first place everyone said it in beta but as usuall we wernt listend to i mean how can you put a game out live without fixing bugs from closed beta? it was a money making scheme rushed out now its gonna stop making money as people leave each week. i see more leaving than i see newbs joining

Saga of ryzom needs more information on the site..
other than that i dont mind the game having bugs.
but this has been discussed over and over..

a good info side on the main site http://www.ryzom.com with a database of stuff like the basics of everything and the in depth patch notes would be nice..

so get a GM that also can maintain a website :) (no offence to current GM's they are great)

Ever heard of technical problems? Want them to announce a 3 hour downtime just to be sure they will make it? Although the servers might be available after 30 min if everything goes smooth.

And we heard your opinion about the state of the game often enough by now. No need to spam the forum with it in every post you make. Just take the consequences.

if your boss said youd get paid on friday and it came 3 weeks later i think youd find a new job :) if patches keep coming in 3-4 times longer than they say people will start finding new games most of the patches we have had lately just seem like a waste of 1-3 hours of my subscription

My friend, your immaturities and naievities are really starting to shine through :-(

Sometimes I wonder if certain people actually take part in real life - or wait, judging by another recent post of yours, your a member of the 9 year olds crew right? Obviously your not old enough to have a job, and understand that these things happen every day, every hour in fact? I'm a developer, and I know all about surprises, problems and work being delayed unavoidably. However, I still have my job, regardless (since I'm a good developer).

I think you should think about this before flaming the devs for late patches. I also think your attitude regarding 'brown nosers' and 'geriatrics' not only stinks, but also enforces the fact that you're immature, and will never have a good word to say about this game until it's 103% perfect.

Well, welcome to the real world - things don't come in 103% perfect packages, especially when they're this new. Also, what possible reason would these 'brown nosers' have for buffing up Nevrax? By inferring people are brown-nosing, you're inferring that they don't actually enjoy the game, but are playing it to keep the devs happy. So to run through that again, the older players are *paying* nevrax for a game that isn't finished, that they don't enjoy, but spend hours and hours playing to make nevrax happy?

My friend, I suggest you think first, and type later (preferably much later :-) )

The people that got disconnected frequently wont think so. And you are comparing apples with pears. Find some more suitable comparisons and you see its not that bad after all.

Well hope you have more fun with the rest of your life or I see one very miserable person running around.

In PlanetSide - Big company 'SOE'.

Patches we infrequent, buggy, change more than listed and always delayed.
Downtime was excessive and at Peak time of the Euro server.

If I was to compare SOE to Nevrax, I would go Nervax every time!

They suffer the same issues that all Online gaming companies do.

They allow us to start patching way before the server goes live.

They have the CSR test the server to check for major issues prior to open in the shard.

They are getting better, not worse with each patch.

We joke on the Klients 1 min realtime = 30 mins Nevrax time.

Over the last few patches this has greatly reduced. currently 1 min realtime = 5 mins Nevrax time :D

At least on the Euro Server its not being patched in the peak evening hours!

Sorry if you get to play all day and you lose 3 hrs of you 50 hour playing week. For me losing 3 hours in the evening is equal to you losing 10-15 hours playtime.

I think Lawrence must be away, cas we didn't get the Bazar or the patch announcement. But hey, he deserves some time off every now and then.

i play this game in anticipation that it may one day actully be worth playing if you read many other posts you will see people leaving left right and center over patch 1 and the so called "tweaks to combat"

im vry far from being 9 years old but i can say if the game was run by 9 yr olds and not geriatrics it would be endless fun :) if you ever had a kid youd know they are 1000 times more fun than playing ryzom they have intelligence which half of the people posting on this forum seem to lack

i could care less if your a developer or the damn game owner if you dont like my opinions then dont read them :) ever heard of freedom of speach? where in this case it isnt freedom of speech as we pay to play this game we also pay to get the info to comment on it so when you pay my subscription then you can tell me what to post :)

i have played alot of mmorpg's and usually they patch b4 they make you log off then you relog get the patch and its usually back up already the server was down 1 hour 30 mins today before we could even download the patch now 2 hours later the server is still down and its only a 30 min patch...... so its all good?
