Unfortunate Goodbye

Post by suka1 »

Firstly I want to appologise to the members of my guild who I didnt have the opportunity to say this in person!

I'm leaving Ryzom for fields a new. I tried to log back on between the last patches to say goodbye in person but rather typically I kept crashing and finally lost patience. I am back to the stage I was at during a previous patch where I simply cant log into Ryzom without crashing 5-15 minutes into the game. Enough is enough and this was the straw that broke the donkeys back.

I managed to be logged in long enough to make Twitches the leader, what you do now and who you elect as leader is up to you. I did notice that not many people seemed to be logged in the last few times I managed to get in myself, maybe this is indicatative of how we all see Ryzom these days, maybe not.

The fact remains I've been in Ryzom since OB1 and seen many things come and go. I guess ultimately I feel sorrow that the game is so far from completion having been invoved with it for so long. I simply dont enjoy the time I spend playing Ryzom at this point in time and I dont feel the product displays value for money. I hope the devs have enough time to fulfill the potential shown but the already dwindling/dis-insterested player base tells its own story.

I hope I'm wrong about Ryzom and can come back to the game I should have been playing 2 months ago in say 6-12 months but who knows?

For those I know, farewell and hopefully see you soon. For those I dont, find another post to flame as what you say is of no interest to me if you couldnt speak to me in game first.

I was on when you passed leadership to me Suma, but the crash never allowed you to see my replies or reply back if u saw them.

Dazman and Ryo have started playing again, and are sad they were not able to reunite up with you.

You will be missed, you are a good guild leader, and even tho I too was playing from OB1, the time we got to play together was not enough. But I hope we had some good memories somewhere along that line :)

You are correct quite a few people are inactive within the guild, some have also left I noticed yesterday; it its a shame to see somin you helped breathe life into decay :(

Im still perservering with the game, blind fanatic i guess :P , but should you come back please get in touch and any other guildies for that matter who have gone inactive.

Don't know you in person, so I won't say anything about that or the " i'll be missing you part". And for the rest of the post I'm not targeting you!

But... Is ther anyone else that has the problems of crashing ALL the time? I don't find it too frustrating. Once or twice aday. So what I think! To many good things in the game for me to feal sad about anyone quitting for strange reasons. Most of the once leaving us has probably allready made up ther minds and started playing WoW or any other game! This happens but damn how anoying if all they who quit would write ther "this-is-way-I-quit-and-how-this-game-sucks" story here! If this Is how it is going to be and people is going to write resignations in this forum, than I plead to you devs:
Make a sticky for the once quitting and maybe someone would write something constructive!

(Now Guildmembers of Atysian Sentience you can tell me how unnessesary it was for me writing :) )

Very sad to see you go...did you ever figure out why you were crashing? There must be a reason...did you investigate what might be causeing it?

I bet he tried everything just like I did. Some people like myself only crashed on Trycker and they were forced to reroll on other continents because GM would refuse to teleport them, others kept on crashing everywhere. I really feel sorry for them, I guess game engine and GFX are great, but they surely need a lot of polishing. I understand your decision Suma, I hope u'll be back for more :D
