Angry tells from other crafters about being 'undercut' is just assinine. That's the way a free market works. If someone is selling below what you are, for the same quality goods, you either lower your price as well, or get out of the market. I sell low, lower than likely anyone else. I know it and I know I could make more if I raised my prices, but I don't care because everything I put up for sale gets sold. I know for a fact that there are a few people that have bought my items, turned around, and put them right back on the vendor for over double what I had them there for. And that's fine.

Complain to/about those players for making idiodic comments and tells, not about the system.

As ee said... and as most of you said with patch 1... give it some time at least before just jumping up and complaining. The population is not so high that it's likely to be a large occurrance, and most of the 'begger crowd' have left for 133t games. Besides, are you going to deny neofuzz his begging? ;)

Why should people have to deal with an influx of this due to this new 'feature'? And we are complaining about those players. Here and now. It's like telemarketers, in the state that I live in, you can be put on a list so you wont get the calls from ANY telemarketers. It is an option. In game, people do not have this option. That is all they are asking for.

I understand what you all mean. You should have an option to say to remain annoyomous. But I kind of like it cause I am always forgetting who made something so it is kind of nice to see who it was so I can request again.

Well, it just came out, so put a suggestion in the have an option name or no name. They are trying to figure out for everyone what they want. If some said oh we want the crafters name. No put one in we want an option. But you will have to give them more than 5 minutes after patch is downloaded.

Gee they are trying.

Yes mimeki they are trying and doing a great job on the whole. But people had suggested having the option. I'm not mad about the whole thing, a little disgruntled at best at what they did, and have faith they will change it for the best. It's the people who are saying that they should keep it so everyone can see with no option of change, that bother me more.

I'd like the middle-ground (as would all voicing this complaint about the current change I'd imagine) of having the choice to put your name on the gear. It still allows those who wish to be known for their gear to have their advertisement, and allows for those who wish to be the master crafter in disguise to have their identities kept safe.

I am sure that one of the board mods will see this, and other complaints about it and forward it to the proper people at nevrax, and will be addressed in their normal timely manner. Gotta love that.

Honestly, putting the seller / buyer on the item, is just not right.
I don't even consider it a feature.

Who here goes to wal-mart, buys a bag of oreos then writes to the company that made them, and says, hey i just bougt your oreo's.

Then they spam the buyer with, buy more oreo's.

When in fact that no one cares who the manufacturer was, if I want an item and its not for sale today, I see if its foresale tomorrow.

This is not a feature, its an idiotic burden.

I for one don't want my entire screen filled with /tells asking me for junk.
What a waste of time.

I 'll clarify on what I said earlier.

I do hope they make it an option to have or not have your name on items you have crafted. I respect that some people want their privacy and others want the free advertising.

My post was just pleading with people to give it a chance before bashing it. An informed critic is better than an ignorant complainer.

Your OREOS analogy is flawed. You don't go to the store and see 10 generic brands of similar cookies with no indication of who made them. You see OREOS. You know these are made by Nabisco. Depending on whether you like or dislike them you may seek out or avoid other Nabisco products in the future.

(The rest of this not directed toward Zumwalt specifically but to all those who object to names on items.)

Have you already been bombarded by a flood of tells? If not you are premature in your complaints. If so, after you tell people once that you don't take custom orders they should either stop bothering you or get added to your ignore list.

Folks, there are not that many of us around. If the few who are left are so antisocial that they will complain because someone else talks to them, is there really any hope to build a fun gaming society in the future?

Most of the people still playing are generally pleasant and easy to get along with. Why not just try to be reasonable with each other and get along?

In case it isn't obvious, I am in favor of the maker of an item being named. If I send a tell to you and you ask me not to again, I won't. If you are so repulsed by the very idea that I might speak to you then do us both a favor and put me on your ignore list before I even attempt to speak to you.

When I played Dark Age of Camelot, I had several crafters making various things, and anything my characters made, when delved, gave the crafter's name. It wasn't an option, just something that was there. Of course, in that game, there was for the longest time no way to put your goods up for sale except to holler out in the main cities what you had for sale. Until they developed the housing expansion, which included consignment merchants, that was the only recourse they had to sell their gear. And I have to tell you, I rarely got /tell asking for gear when I was away from town, because I wasn't advertising. Now, granted, there were mob drops that were equal, if not better, to what could be crafted, so, the parallel isn't exact, but it is there to an extent.

Now, with Ryzom's merchants selling our wares, in this player driven economy, it's a whole different ball game. I, for one, think it's neat to see stuff I made with my character's name on it, and initially, probably wouldn't complain too much. However, I can appreciate that some folks prefer their anonymity and would just rather put their stuff on merchant when they have it ready and go with it.

For what it's worth, this whole 'crafted by' business is now a feature, and quite a few people don't like the way it was done, namely, automatically without the consent of the crafter. If this describes you, then, I would suggest putting it in as a suggestion. Enough of those, and chances are, it'll be changed in an upcoming patch, perhaps as a checkbox on the crafting window for 'add your name to this item'. I, for one, like the new change, at least at this point (I haven't logged in yet and gotten a ton of tells asking for medium armor hehehe), but I also think those who don't are entitled to their opinion and desire to get things changed. There is no need for us bashing one another over what might be considered a minor feature.

Peace out, yall
