A Pledge to Atys

Mynias called for a pact between races and guilds to help each other out in the event of a kitin invasion. Not a council, not a government. An agreement.

All it comes down to is this:

If the Kitins attack another civilization, if you are able, will you come and lend your aid to the fight?

If you can answer yes to this question, super.

Will you help others in preparation for kitin invasions? (Assisting in gaining spawns/passes, helping out people with gear (not free gear of course), helping teach the younger generations the ways and lays of the land)

If you can answer yes to this as well, great.


When this meeting was called, I took up the cause to lead a trip from Zorai to Fyros. Many guilds and unguilded pledged their support to the cause. We did not need a council. We did not need a government. We did not need a comitee. And we accomplished it anyways.

So this I pledge;

If a land comes under invasion, I will do my best to attend and aid the beseiged lands.

I will do my best to help in the escorting for safe passage for those that need, as I am able.

I will help my fellow Atysian to the best of my abilities to further fight off the hordes.

If a land comes under invasion, I will do my best to attend and aid the beseiged lands.

Out of curiosity, how does the upcoming PvP patch factor in to all this? I ask not to belittle your pledge, just to ask what we are going to do when everybody has their tickets and no hordes are attacking.

If your answer is, "I'm not going to PvP." Then I guess you can ignore my question, but if it's not...

In regards to PvP, I serve Atys and it's people. Killing them wouldn't quite fall in lines with that ey?

The pledge has nothing to do with PvP really, just because I may cut down a homin in PvP battle does not mean that I now cannot protect other homins who may be of the same race or guild of the one I cut down.

The pledge is to protect the land specifically from being overrun by kitin so does not preclude PvP in any way.

Again does not preclude PvP.

This is the only item which might be construed to limit PvP but even then that would be a stretch as hordes would be understood to mean "non-homins attacking a homin city or stronghold."

Generally though, most homins don't engage one another unless provoked...at least not currently.

I agree with Gorran that it's possible to mix the two, this has just been a concern of mine that, like it or not, PvP will be introduced and that needs to be factored into our decisions. I can seperate the too. Many people can. Many people can't.

This is one of the things that's bugging me about how Nevrax is introducing these different pieces of the game instead of having it all included at launch.
