if i decided i wanted to play WoW, i'd go turn on my Nintendo64 and play some Zelda. seriously, WoW has _slightly_ better graphics, with worse content. Majora's mask beats the hell out of WoW.

i was going to write more, but then i realized that says it all.

Yes, it is wonderful how it sounds clueless and inaccurate, isn't it ?
At that level, it's almost art.

The background is great.
The graphics are stylized and marvelous.
I've tried a lot of classes and all are fun to play and soloable.
There are musics for each area and the just sound marvelous.
I didn't tried the pvp.

the background is nice, I never liked overly the world of warcraft, but I must
actually say that they put ALOT of work into characterizing the lands, making each single npc and story

the garphics.. stilyzed all you want as you say it... but I have seen the beaches of darkshore. with the footprints on the sand.. the sea illumined by the sun rising, the underwater search for treasures in wrecked ships... and I utterly fell in love fo that.

all classes are balanced and soloable, and if different classes cooperates they become war-machines of instoppable destruction. and this is FUN. also looting can be set on different rules and it's really nice and I've done a char for each race and all sexes just to see them dance.... the tauren lands are WONDERFUL ;.;

the musical score I agree is very catchy I am going to get the collector edition to have the cd with all the musics to use in my PNP campaign.

also, as final note, the quests.... way too many for a mere human, or dark elf, or orc, or whathever. and the world... is... huge.. took me DAYS to explore a small region out of 40 or so.

this game is like Morrowind, only massively multiplayer. and if you know what is morrowind.. you understood.

Well since I have been playing wow.

I must say his review is totally 1 sided. Which is cool that's how he views it.
Unless you try wow you won't know.

Good things about each game.

---------
RYZOM
---------
1. Ryzom graphics are pretty.

2. Character creation.

3. Love the spell effects of ryzom.

4. Crafting is simple.

5. Not limited to play one role.

6. Harvesting.

-----------------------------------------------

Ryzom is kinda like a pretty Ferrari but with a ford escort engine.

So far wow has been alot of fun.

--------
WOW
--------

1. wow graphics are cartoonie but more like your xbox playing the simpsons.
Plus it keeps your lag down even on a 56k modem.

2. wow content is there I mean a story with every quest.

3. Quests that advance your character are in depth.

4. Skills work awsome for every class and make every class good at pvp with practice and knowing how other classes work.

5. PVP which I love. There are pvp servers great. Normal,RP servers.

6. A large community everywhere I go I always see someone.

7. Trade skills. Not limited to armor and weapons.

8. Raid system.

9. Talent skills that arn't based off you main skills. But help your main skills.

10. Alot of mounts different for almost everyone.

11. Repairable armor and weapons.

12. No Death penalty if you run back to your corpse and get it. But the thing is you won't be killed running back to your corpse. Your a ghost and move real fast.

13. Auction house.

14. Mail system. You can mail money items to friends. You can mail items and money to your alts.

15. Pets come on pets rock. No pets getting stuck.

16. Pets get there own skills.

17. Very cute emotes. Cute characters.

18. Harvesting.

19. I think I could go on and on. So many things I haven't even touched.

------------------------------------------------------

So Far only bad thing about wow ob is the servers seem to be down more then up. I hope in release its not like that but you can never say for sure.

I like ryzom but its lacking alot.

In ryzom you fear someone and it stuns him. In wow you fear someone and he runs away like fear is supposed to work.

You really can't compare WOW and RYZOM against each other there totally differen't.

WOW took everything good about every mmo out there and perfected it. Seriously Blizzard is gonna have a great launch. Maybe laggy but great.

RYZOM is great in its own way but don't try to compare it to wow its no contest there too different. Ryzom uses spells differently some things are similar but its just a different game.

If you compare it to wow. Your comparing a company who has been doing great games for a long time now. They know what people like. They looked at what every mmo did and what was loved about it.

Well thats it folks.

I will still play ryzom but zorai seems dead and lonely so wow seems better atm.

dont' forget one little thing.. in RYZOM the aggro monsters follows you.. FOREVER up to town and beyond. while in WoW they stop after some run, and also doens't throw themselves down cliffs to follow you. and also they do not have 360 degrees aggro range, but if you sneak behind them and they are looking to the other side it's likely you will get away with it. and finally apart VERY rare cases of monsters lured by players.. AGGRO MOBS ARE NEVER AND AGAIN NEVER NEAR ROADS.and I repeat NEVER NEAR ROADS.
aka I could walk to two distant towns following the road not risking overly.

Still haven't tried the game since the patch I see Keriann!

Aggro breaks almost instantly if you can get a safe distance from the mob!
It used to take 5 mins+

WOW - sounds like a very controlled environment.

I can walk freely between Matis towns - without collecting aggro - on road and off. I tend to travel with my eyes open tho!

So no one cares if they die then? Doesn't that make it a bit pointless making them die at all; why not just stun them for an amount of time related to their distance from the nearset spawnpoint? Plus I would imagine it makes people rather blasé about everything.

No, when you fear someone (using an appropriately leveled spell ofc), they run away (often out of their aggro range so they don't even come back to attack you); when you stun someone (again using the right lvl of spell) they get stunned and you proceed to slap/nuke them as hard as you can. I would know as I use these spells all the time, and they have always had the correct effects for as long as the game has been retail (except stun used to be pointless because the stunned mob could still dodge, and would do so all the time, but this was fixed by Patch1)

Sounds a bit like this "no dp" thing to me... no risk envolved = unrealistic (accepting that mmorpgs are never that realistic anyway, but you should at least try...) and boring. Besides, if you get xp for exploring, isn't this just handing you free xp? I'm assuming that this "exploring" is simply defined as the area of the map you have been to, so I might be wrong if they made the roads and the areas around them not count.
