lol no I am a real person pissed off that I payed $106 usd for 2 copies of a game that is inferior to games made more than 5 years ago..

EQ2 is a MUCH better game and if you are maintaining the attitude that Ryzom is this and that but you have not actually tried EQ2 then I guess all I can do is feel sorry for you..

Seriously, this is from one concerned mmo player trying to appeal to others!

Try the game guys, you will not be disappointed like I was in Ryzom...

Take my board rights lol I'll just go back to playing a better game that your too stubborn to try because you do not like SOE or the Everquest line..

Who is the one that is close minded now???

"Competition"? What competition? The Ryzom forums don't seem to allow competition :p

Considering that EQ2 had to open like 8 new servers since launch I seriously doubt that they have any need whatsoever to send Sony employees to the Ryzom boards. Just a thought.

jksmith is angry for a reason. He paid good money for this game and thus I think has a right to express his opinion on it, whether you like it or not. He bought another game that he likes much better, he lists why and is not just stupidly bashing Ryzom.

Get over it.

On another note, banning someone's name (someone who paid $49.00 for this) from the official forums because you don't allow "advertising for other games" makes you look extremely scared of competition. If Ryzom can hold up to other games (which I personally believe it can't - at least not to the better ones out there) what do you care if people discuss other games or not and say that they like them better, even advise other playes to try them out? If your game was better, you would think that players would stick with it or return if they dislike something new that they tried out. I've seen it happen in games like Anarchy Online. People leave left and right and eventually come back.

Somehow, that doesn't seem to be the case here :p

Honestly, it's just frustrating to pay that much money for games these days and find out they suck. Whatever happened to $29.00 games and free trials anyway? Either way, your "do not advertise other games" attitude says a lot about you, how much you care about players finding the perfect game for themselves to stick with it -- and (ban me for this all you want, because I just canceled my Ryzom account so I couldn't care any less) you know what?

I agree with jksmith.

EQ2 is indeed better than Ryzom.

Gee, did you know EQ2 even has *actual* starter quests that you can do??

But as with all things in life, there's a limit somewhere and I'd like you to not abuse the freedom you have to keep creating threads with the sole purpose of linking to other games' message boards, news and the like.

and now this thread.

might be a bit harsh, might not. still he had canceled the account before.

euhm...

i say its a matter of taste. i like Ryzom, true never tried EQ2 and never will. because i like Ryzom and dont see the point of trying another game. narrow minded? me? no not narrow minded. just happy with Ryzom(and the fact i cant pay for another game at the moment)

have an opinion, fine, spam it all over, not fine.
if you have a valid complaint go ahead and post it. if its a purely subjective complaint then go and complain to your friends but not here.(i do it to it relieves as much)
(on the other hand it does keep things interesting ;) )

i would say more but i will finish with this.

start finding new complaints these are getting old and boring not so fun to read

Well, I think one way to discuss other games is to put a link here for a forum that actually has the other games and/or comparisson as a topic.
As for this forum, it is meant for Ryzom players.
Yes, critisim, or suggestion, even some complaints, I can go for that and I think those should be put on these forums. But saying "this game sux , better try ???" is no way to do it.

There have been plenty of discussions about patch one, some left, some stayed, some wait for patch 2. But the way this thread was started, it simply seemed to try to get Ryzom players away from Atys to try EQ2. This ís not the right place. And since Lawrence actually asked him to be less "provocative" in advertising other games, and nothing changed, I can absolutely understand the action of banning him.

Just my opinion

jksmith wrote:Do yourself a favor and give it a shot.. I played Ryzom for 2 weeks and after the 3+ patches in 3 days, total lack of content and boring hunting/crafting I gave EQ2 a shot and wow!

There are over 15 actual quests that you can do just on the starter island.. One quest database lists 429 total quests in EQ2!

Right off the bat you are able to do some very entertaining quests solo or with friends!

The mobs are so much better to look at!

Crafting is actually fun AND profitable!

Combat is a blast!

So many races and classes/subclasses to choose from!

Large and supportive community!

I can go on and on!

I post this so that you do not make the same mistake my wife and I did by forking over $106 for a game that is disappointing!!

If you want to advertise, do it in the Guest forum please. If at all.

Everyone here has already bought their crack, thanks. ;)
