What I like about it. Its not the same old.

I played that dam .... for three years and it was complicated for no reason it pigeon holed you into one type of player or another, and it was the same crappy type of game as all the rest. ( dragons, wisards, trolls, blah, blah, blah, YUCK) All of that is ok if u just love Lord of the Rings. Don't get me wronge I like Lord of the Rings but, I love Sci Fi.

I like the way this game gives you the freedom to be what ever type of char you want whenever you want without having to start a new char. I like that there are no trolls or walking dead or any of that garbage thats been recycled over and over.

I like the way you almost have to incorporate a little of all the skills into your char just to survive.

I like the fact that it limits you to real life boundries without going overboard, not alot of mystical magic like other games. In this game if you want it you hunt it or dig it up and then you make it.

And what I realy like is what I've heard is coming later in the game......

Except that "whinners" is spelled "whiners" since it produces a long 'i' sound =P

I agree for the most part. It has a fresh look and feel that I enjoy. It doesn't matter to me that I progress fairly slowly. I still can and do progress in all of my chosen skills.

One thing that does bother me is that it is hard to explore. I like to wander around and visit different places. Doing that here is suicidal.

That is so true, I also like to explore for new hunting grounds and find the best place to group and it is very hard if not impossible now. But, I do have a freind that I can get to help me explore but he will only do this for short periods. Generaly untill we get killed then, THATS IT.

I disagree atleast in regards to the Tryker land Adeas Aqueous. I have travelled all over Liberty Lakes without dying once. You have to expect some areas to be dangerous or else this wouldnt add a level of difficulty to the game.

Some areas should be dangerous. I don't disagree at all.

Last night I spent three hours trying to gain even one respawn point.

I expected to max my DP by exploring. I was successful in that.

I expected to not be able to cross even the first region of Prime Roots successfully alone. Again I was successful in not being able to do that.

What I did not expect is that 25 attempts along a variety of routes would not be enough to get me from Pyr to Thesos. To put high level aggressive creatures on every single travel choke point is not making a game difficult. It is a clear statement from the designers that they do not want individuals to be able to travel.

You will either stay trapped in a small area connected to your home city, or you will get high level players to escort you on a trip they have made before, or you will band together a raid size force just to make a one time pilgrimmage to another city in your own homeland.

Once you have been someplace trips back and forth are free.

I absolutely resent this design decision. I can live with how difficult it is to level solo even at it's worst right after patch 1. I am having trouble accepting that I am not allowed to explore at all.

Yes I can get someone to escort me to Thesos. I have had a number of offers already. That isn't the point. I want to play as an explorer not as baggage. Risk is acceptable. Designed impossbility is not.

I have made the trip from thesos to pyr unmolested (no aggro). Yes I maxed my dp, but those mobs are high arse level. This was done post-patch 1, since I didn't have the respawn before. The way (and only way) I've found to do this is from the far NE ramp in the Imperial dunes, to the northern most ramp leading to Sawdust mines. It takes alot of patience, and alot of dp. But it is possible. And once you get there, you'll have free reign to harvest the q200 nodes just outside of town.

Try doing that in tryker lands.
