Nay, this was not the kitins fault. It was the goo, who have recently been nicknamed 'the devs'! ;)

I agree - in fact at the times I normally play it seems busier than ever in and around Pyr. There have been times in the last few days that I have done a /who and marvelled at how many people are around.

Certainly no 'ghosts' amongst the mighty Fyros my friends! :-)

I don't think there's need to worry, remember that we're still at the very beginning of things.
Most of those who left likely never truly meant to stay around anyways.

In their defence, they have been very quick to make some changes and fixes at the request of the players; there was a "fix" for Patch One within 24 hours, and we have had a number of patches since then that have all fixed annoying bugs *and* rebalanced what lots of people claimed was too hard.

rushin wrote:link, I feel your pain. There is no denying that the atmosphere in the cities and attitide of homins everywhere is at an all time low. I also came to the mainland and wandered in awe around Zora, last week it was a ghost town..

But there is always hope. We have to stop thinking about the past and look forwards. Everyday new homins arrive from the islands. The population is growing once more. It's time for those of us who have been here for a while to step up and stop feeling sorry for ourselves. Yes our guilds are in disarray, yes there are teams who go out hunting in the same spot nite after nite. All you, I, and everyone else needs is a little determination to make the situation better..

I am not so great at motivational speeches :D but i hope my point is clear at least. The past is gone, it's not coming back. But that doesn't mean the future is bleak - it's what we make it. And i for one intend to make it as enjoyable as i can ;-)

We do have to move forward, before the patch I was killing hard kipees on my own and at that time was a 45 melee with ql 50 pike ql 50 medium armour and the essential self heal 5 which, I would not have survived without. My point is the Kitins back then were far to easy to kill, they would miss me about 8 out of 10 times and the fight could last up to 4 - 5 minutes.

As mainly a soloist at the moment, my melee has not improved at all since patch 1 still at 53 melee (I sometimes play over 10 hours in a day and normally play every day). The reason for this is I cannot find anything worth while to kill that does not kill me first. If I go hunting over 50% of the time I end up with no loot which, is not much of an incentive to go hunting solo as I also get very little in xp. Whereas harvesting I alway get a return on my efforts, usually ql 50 choice mats (5 at a time) and better xp even though I am a level 80 harvester.

My main concern with the game is that the newer people may find it too hard on the mainland which in turn will make it boring to them, in which case they will give up and go else where and this is not good for any of us.

I hate to say it and sound rude, but why don't you join a team (or even a guild) and fight with them to get more xp? I'm planning on getting some people of a similar lvl from my guild in Fyros together to go to the places the higher-ups used to go to so we can get some better xp (personally I have no trouble getting good xp grouping with people 50lvls above me).

Its true that by teaming you can tackle larger mobs and therefore gain more xp, but sometimes its impossible to get a group together.

A lot of people don't have time to play for more than an hour or so at a time. (real life is a pain!) and trying to get in a group, get people ready, go to find some mobs and start the killing is a logistical nightmare sometimes!!

This is why i find myself harvesting more than anything else. I can log on, harvest away for an hour or so and have a pile of experience and loads of mats too (pulling 7 x 80q now!).

Don't get me wrong, i like teaming. Good bit of action etc, but i think there should be a better system in place for the casual solo player.....

Hey why don't? Because. Because some ppl, me including, just prefer solo. As for me, I rarely group, only when asked to assist (help/tank/powerlvl somebody). I have fun exploring and planning my actions on my own. This is my virue, also in RL :P And I want XP that would reward my style of gaming too.

D@mn skippy they have. Done a right bang-up job knocking out all those patches in the past week. I was just throwing a little humor in there (since the storyline said it was the goo that made everything stronger). I'm glad for the patch (And would have still been happy without the subsequent patchs as well, but not everyone is a fan of extreme challenges :D ) and also glad to see people are warming up with the subsequent adjustments (musta been all that goo resin i've been diggin out of Dew Drops!).

The reason number one you see less people about is not really because of patch 1... but because free month is over and some people don't like to pay to play (why they even bought the game is beyond my understanding tho).

The patch1 was only a catalyst.
