Don't worry this is not another post where I point out
all the flaws in the game
I still remember the day I left noob island and arrived
in the glorious city of Yrkanis. Everything was new and very
exciting. Slowly our skills progressed and we could venture further
into the land exploring the undiscovered country.
The community was thriving and many great teams formed alliances
working toward common goals. Many weekends were spent trying to
get to Tryker, Fyros and Zorai. Not all were sucessfull but we never
gave up. Thanks to the skillfull help of Endasil and Sky (and others I can't remember)
we usually succeeded in the end.
At his point in the game I was in awe - never before had a game captured me in a way like this.
The exploring aspect was great, either you chose to go in teams or you tried a bit of solo sneaking.
Then on the the third of Novemeber we were set back to the dark ages.
Some will disagree with me on this, some will not. What we can't deny
is that much of the enthusiasam that once was now is gone. Many good
friends have departed never to be seen again. At any given night
the city of Yrkanins seems more like a ghost town. It's once so crowded
streets are empty. The defences remain but the kitins will have an easy job
recapturing the world of ryzom.
A few dedicated homins remain - wandering bewildered around wondering what happened.
Still you can enounter the odd team here and there. Mostly fighting the same mobs over and over again. I wonder how long they will remain ?

Re: This is what is has come down to
link, I feel your pain. There is no denying that the atmosphere in the cities and attitide of homins everywhere is at an all time low. I also came to the mainland and wandered in awe around Zora, last week it was a ghost town..
But there is always hope. We have to stop thinking about the past and look forwards. Everyday new homins arrive from the islands. The population is growing once more. It's time for those of us who have been here for a while to step up and stop feeling sorry for ourselves. Yes our guilds are in disarray, yes there are teams who go out hunting in the same spot nite after nite. All you, I, and everyone else needs is a little determination to make the situation better..
I am not so great at motivational speeches but i hope my point is clear at least. The past is gone, it's not coming back. But that doesn't mean the future is bleak - it's what we make it. And i for one intend to make it as enjoyable as i can

Re: This is what is has come down to
Perhaps the warriors of Matis and Zorai are not as strong and tough as the mighty Fyros; sure there are a few less of us, but we are no less determined and our proud city of Pyr is certainly not a "ghost town"

hehe, The Zorai are strong in spirit. We have suffered far worse from the kitin masses. Our holy misson to reclaim our lands and unite all homins under the Kami will not be stopped. The time is coming homins. Our time is coming

Re: This is what is has come down to
I have been under the impression that the Matis lands are a lot more populated than the Fyros.
It was a bit of a 'Ghost Town' for us just after Patch 1 and indeed friendly faces were lost. But now its seems we are starting to thrive, I'm starting to see a lot of new friendly faces here
Things just take time,
Good Luck to all.

Re: This is what it has come down to
now that the free trial is open, many more people will get to experience ryzom.
But how many of them will sign up and stick around after the 14 day trial period is up?
Lets all do our best to make these new faces feel welcome and part of the community. I've already seen some 'noob bashing' in and around Pyr and this is not acceptable.
These trial players will make or break this game, they must be encouraged to stay.

The time has come to reclaim Ryzom...
The most horrible and devious of kitins know as "the devs" may
have won the first round. The damage they did to all homins surpass
all the cuttlers and torbaks out there
But fear not - I hear rumors of a massive force building in the east.
The faint wind has brought word that many a new homin is about to arrive
in the great cities.
Together we shall amass a force so formidable in strenght and intelligence
that we shall once again reclaim what is rightfully ours.
I pray they are not too late...
And remember we all owe it, to them and ourself, to train the new arrivals well !

Re: This is what it has come down to
I agree Link.
Lets welcome these new arrivals into our Guilds and under our collective protection.
