Sorry to pop-your-soap-bubble, but game is out of beta, has been released since September 16 (ok, call it 20th with all the delivery snaffus), and has gone thru various fix-it patches already...

Game should be at your local retailer's shelves. If not, then you can order one from them.

think he made an attempt to be sarcastic but failed to add any scent of it in his statements.

What is this "beta testers" you speak of? How precicely do you "fix" a Kitin? There are no time for games, boy, we must prepare ourselves to fight the Kitin! Next you'll be babbling incoherently about the mythical and almighty "DEVS" or something.

Or could it be, that you have been taken possession by the Great Dragon, or the GOO?! Pray to Jena it is not so! Seek out high QL Mental help as soon as you can, or find your local Kami Priest.

I thought the original message, sadly, was pretty much on target. There are still an awful lot of bugs in this game, including even text bugs (try to destroy mission items, for example, and get a message saying you destroyed a <stackitem> or something like that). Furthermore, they are changing combat in a substantial fashion almost daily. Harvesting also was changed drastically to make it harder, then the changes were reversed and it became even easier than before patch1, and that too keeps changing frequently. This doesn't feel like a stable, polished product.

Please understand that I enjoy the game and these comments are not from a detractor. The frequent changes make it difficult to get a "feel" for the game, however, and erode my confidence that the developers really know how to balance the game (and that should be worked out in beta).

Go have a look at UO's stratics forums... That's a seven plus year old game and one of the threads that is almost perpetually locked to the top of it is "list your xxx patch bugs here" or "keep your posts about problems with yyy expansion in this sticky thread". There are bugs in that game that are YEARS old and still have not been fixed, and yet there are also 150k subscriptions (they peaked at 250k after AoS) and players who have stuck with the game since it opened more than 7 years ago.

As far as content, well, UO has none to speak of. The faction system has been borked for years, PvP is plagued by hacks, exploits, and cheats, and the tradeskills were wiped out years ago by something called "powerhour" which allowed players to raise crafting skills up so quickly that within a few months of its introduction, most players had no need to buy from crafters... each one had his or her own "mule" character that make do everything needed.

Yet, that game has diehard fans, and people who leave it quite often go back to it. Can be years before some players truly quit UO even if they do leave it several times in disgust with all the problems.

Just because a game has balancing issues, bugs, and even low to no content, does not mean it's "still in beta" or that the players are "beta testers".

So!

I will keep playing Ryzom, a game I enjoy even with all of the current issues. I do not consider myself to be beta testing this game.
