Game since patch..

I have not been able to play really since the big patch. Whenever I log in, I am constantly getting flashed with the Please Wait.. icon thing in the center of my screen. It's not a constant, it just flashes, repeatedly, is VERY annoying, and the game is just completely unplayable, unless I sit there, and hope to have a petition answered. I was playing fine except for the few other glitches I went through before this patch, but now... It makes no sense that this patch would just completely destroy my ability to play. Nothing changed on my end, I don't have linksys or whatever, I don't have a network, I just play from my home on my computer. I like the game, don't want to have to quit it, but at this point that's the only option because I'm not going to pay for a pretty chat room Any help is appreciated.

Hiya, could you turn off any anti-spyware or anti-virus programs you may have running, as well as disabling any sort of firewall software? That will help to troubleshoot the issue.

Have none of that, and if I do, it is shut off. (I'm not a completely dumby when it comes to computers just for a heads up )

I am still looking for help to this issue. I don't get disconnected after 10 minutes like the other post, ... I just constantly get flashed with the disconnected Please Wait.. Icon. In game support said to post, so I am, again, but the game is unplayable since big patch, and none of the smaller ones have helped either, I'm giving it another week before I just have to cancel I guess. Sucks, cause I just got charged for this game yesterday, and now I can't play it Bah.

Okay, do the tech people for this game just never read these forums? I was told by the GM in game to post here, but I'm not getting any help. With EQ II coming out, I just might take my business there.

I used to get the same message. But lately its been ok.

I was previously using d3d as my graphics option, and during that, i have seen many small freezes, the flickery please wait and all out access violations.

When i changed to opengl, the only thing that remained was the very occasional game freeze for about a second or two.

Try changing graphics to opengl, see if that solves anything

Are you actually getting disconnected, or is it just intermittent flashing?

Yes, changing the graphics settings does not solve the problem.

The Please Wait... icon comes up, flashes constantly, the ping reader keeps going from connected, disconnected, packet loss all over the place. None of this happened before the big patch. I still can't play. If I do attempt to play, it's like unbelievable jerkiness and the constant flashing of the Please Wait box, so basically it's not playable. I'm about to just cancel my account, since the game people themselves don't ever seem to answer. Thanks for any help, again.
