With the amount of players currently in the game, i'm finding it really hard to find a group your level for the skill you want to work on. There are alot of lv 100+ players playing with lv 50- players.
I think they should consider merging the player base from the UK and NA servers.
Yes, i do know the extent of work needed to do this, and yes, if they move the server it may increase the lag.
But if the player base is raised, alot of players will not have such a hard time finding groups, and won't solo as much.
Any ideas on that?

one word Lag do u not rember it From Before? it moved?
Re: Merge the english servers
Yeah to much lag and ping. There is just far to great a distance between us to be making one or the other have to use a server half way across the world. It's not like combining say an east and west coast server or something. I didn't like some of the problems of playing on the North America server when it was still in europe (or where ever it was over there before they moved it to the USA). Then add double the players and it would have been compounded even more.

Wouldn't it be better to try getting back all the players they've lost?

Due to time differences I dont think we would notice any change in population.atrax wrote:With the amount of players currently in the game, i'm finding it really hard to find a group your level for the skill you want to work on. There are alot of lv 100+ players playing with lv 50- players.

Re: Merge the english servers
Hey, it worked for EVE Online, why not Ryzom? 4-5 different countries are currently playing on the same server in EVE and I haven't experienced any lag in that game as of yet.
It isn't impossible, just really really hard to aaccomplish.

Re: Merge the english servers
I have just started playing Ryzom and I really like the game, the only bad thing I have seen so far is that there are so few people playing (on the europe english server where I play). Having others to play with is to me more important than any fault in gameplay or bugs. A bug can atleast be fun if I have someone to laugh at it with. Sitting alone in the huge city of Pyr, is not fun.
Why they chose to have 4 servers for Ryzom, I don't know, but it might have been a bad choice.

Re: Merge the english servers
They just need to move all the races to one city.
Re: Merge the english servers
because during the beta people were constantly shouting at each other to speak english, which was in turn completely ignored by the french and german players, also to have localised support and event teams for each region (MDO/Jolt/Themis and whoever tends to the french)dirak wrote:Why they chose to have 4 servers for Ryzom, I don't know, but it might have been a bad choice.

Re: Merge the english servers
I speak german, english and a my own native language and am having a hard time figuring out which server I should play on. I started playing on the english european server this weekend to see if I liked the game, now that I do, I don't want to risk being stuck playing on a server that is going to be empty one month from now.
From reading the forums it seems like everyone think that "patch 1" is going to scare new players away. What scares me away is that there is so few playing on each server that I risk ending up playing a solo game. When a new player starts in the refugee village he will most likely not meet any other players, atleast I didn't. I only talked to one other person over region chat, but never saw him. He gave up the game 10min later because it was no fun playing alone.
If the reason for having several servers was that people couldn't get along because they were speaking different languages, then I think there is something wrong with the people here. As for event teams, I think it would be much more fun if they had focused all that work on one server, giving us a chance to take part in all events.
