I was praising the CON system that was inplace pre-patch. WOW, not other do they have the standard color codes, but also have a "range" con box. Excellant job on the conning system fellows...
...THEN...
Patch went live and changed it. :/
So how does the "star system" suppose to work now? ONE star conned mobs have ranged from easy to instant death to me so far.
Is the "color" code (grey-green-blue-yellow-red-purple) still in place? (targeting reticle)
Is the "range" code still ingame at all? How about the aggressive box?
Can someone EXPLAIN the newest CON system inplace?
Re: Can someone EXPLAIN the newest CON system inplace?
The color of the con is the level area to which a mob belongs (i think order is still the same as pre patch). The stars is simply a means of being more accurate. So a suckling yubo would be light blue with 1 star, a roaming one is light blue with 2 stars, scampering light blue with 3 stars.....
Then when its for higher mobs, like vigilant kipee , its dark blue with 1 star, strong kipee is dark blue with 2 stars.... adn so on so forth.
if u see a mob with a red or pink con, run

Re: Can someone EXPLAIN the newest CON system inplace?
aggro box is gone, the colors still display the absolute level of the mob and the stars help subdivide the colours in different levels(they rise with the names of the mobs [suckling->weanling->roaming etc.])
also the colours are now roughly correspondent with physical ingame areas, for further help on which colours display which levels rightclick the target box and select help
note: mobs of different levels can be of wildly varying difficulty and xp gain, depending on the type(carnivore, herbivore, kitin etc.) and HP of the mob respectively

First time I saw the new con system, I read the associated help file.
It explains the stars and the colour system.
Have a look it seems to make a lot of sense.
Re: Can someone EXPLAIN the newest CON system inplace?
I can tell you what the stars mean. They're the strength of that type of mob in the region you're in. Example (and my numbers and prefixes are off, I know, I'm not logging in just to make sure I have the names right):
In a 1-50 region, the weakest clopper, Puny Clopper, has 1 star. The second strongest clopper in that region has 2 stars. A baying clopper would have 5 stars say, being the strongest clopper in that region.
Now try it in the 51-100 region. The weakest clopper in this region would have 1 star (assume it's stronger than the 5 star mobs of the lowbie region). It would be stronger than a Baying Clopper. The toughest clopper of this region, about level 100, would have 4 or 5 stars. This mob would be about the same as a 1 star Clopper from the 101-150 region.
This scale is relative to the same type of mob only. A suckling Yubo would have 1 star. A Weanling Yubo would have 2 stars, but would probably still be weaker than the 1 star Puny Clopper.
If anyone knows what the color of the box now means, or if it even means anything, please reply and enlighten us :)
EDIT: Wow, started typing when there were no replies, look at them now :P

Re: Can someone EXPLAIN the newest CON system inplace?
But is the targeting reticle still conning the mobs in respect to your level?
...in addition to the target boxe's info?

ACK, say it is not so!!! The conning system is different for each zone? <Brain begins to fry> Not what I want to hear at all.aelvana wrote:I can tell you what the stars mean. Re: Can someone EXPLAIN the newest CON system inplace?
Here's an easy way:zwild wrote:ACK, say it is not so!!! The conning system is different for each zone? <Brain begins to fry> Not what I want to hear at all. :(
The color of the box indicates the level range. So, if cyan is 51-100, a cyan Clopper with 1 star is prolly 50. A cyan clopper with 5 stars is prolly 100.
If yellow is 101-150, a yellow Clopper with 1 star is about 100, and a yellow Clopper with 5 stars is around 150.
Etc etc
Re: Can someone EXPLAIN the newest CON system inplace?
easy there, would recommend coolant fluid for your brain but im not sure that would be healthy
Just think of the colors as mob levels, ie: 1-25 green, 25-50 light blue.50-75 blue, 75-100 white etc ...... The stars are to be more specific within these ranges.
and if u see a red con(200+), run like the wind, only faster
