Racial Modifiers for Foragers?

Does anyone know if you get hidden bonuses for foraging in your homeland?

The reason I ask is that the extraction plan I use in my homeland (with terrain specialisation) will extract to my max QL whereas the same plan with the relevant terrain specialisation will only extract about 20 QL under my max in other lands. In both instances Im extracting over a max QL 100 source of varrying source modes (0-5) inclusive.

I appreciate my 'home' foraging is my highest skill but the differential is less than 10 levels (74 Matis and 65 Fyros) so I wouldnt have thought that would apply.

I dont understand why I get so many purple 'you failed' type messages when foraging away from home.

Possibly because of your region forage level. Eg, I am Matis and my forest forage is level 85 ish, this means I can pull Q90 mats using gentle extraction. If I port to Fyros, then my desert forage is level 50 ish, which means I can only pull Q60 mats at best.

Try adjusting your forage to a level within plus 10 of your skill (experiment if you use harmful, I only ever use gentle).

Yep, if you are a Fyros and are foraging in Matis...you are NOT using your Desert foraging tree, you are working on FOREST foraging and guess what...unless your guild drug you there at level 50, you forest foraging as a Fyros WILL be lower than your Desert.

SO...when you leave home, you HAVE to change your mind set, along with your actions. Might want to keep you Q/level 50 actions on a bar of your Hands bar for future Away from home foraging fun.
