Who do you think you are??
50% of americans think Paris is a country and you can say how we work??
French Devs and French GM are online on the Klient for the w-e, they work...

Sorry for my bad english but can you speak french?
Oui, Je parle en peu. And don't assume that ALL Americans are illiterate just because some of us CHOOSE to be. And Yes, we have heard about the near Socialistic system that is forming up in Europe. You all get WAY more time off than we do. It is COMMON for a worker to put 50 to 80 hours on time time clock in ONE week. I somehow just don't see other nations doing this.

Also we get one to TWO WEEKS paid vacation/holiday...I read somewhere that other nations get MONTHS, depended upon the country, but of ALL industrialized nations the US got the LEAST paid time off.

I do not Characterize all French as Inspector Cluso (Pink panther, pardon my spelling, just spent a LONG business weekend on the road, five HOURS driving will goof up the BEST of spellers, add to that a sunburn...and you get my drift), PLEASE do not Characterize all Ameicans as Billy Joe Bob and his wife Bobby Sue.

We in America DO have a work ethic, MANY of us work ourselves danged near to DEATH. Having TWO incomes in ONE family isn't a Luxury here...you do it or learn to like Ramen noodles and peanut butter.

I think if the devs would at least inform us that they were planning on fixing things that MANY of the "I am leaving, Here, let me hold that door for the rest of us heading out." posts would not even happen. We would take the weekend off and do something more fun and wait it out. But it seems we are getting a WORLD of silence...which in the US is normally a signal of being at a loss for what to do.

Why drink their beer?

It's rather like making love in a canoe...

"Looking at that chart, I suppose someone like the poster would infer that Mexico either has the greatest educational system in the known world, or the largest concentration of geographically minded citizens. However, if you take into account the sample size of the survey you realize that there is a standard deviation of +/- 4 points which means that with the exception of Great Britain every country was able to identify the United States with relatively the same level of success.
That all being said, I doubt the poster could locate his posterior if it wasn't located so close to his neck.
Yes, his neck."

If there's any anal-cranial inversion going on there's other places to look :)

I think what you can assume is that power madness and arrogance coupled with poor education and a general lack of interest in the world beyond one's own borders in the states combine to create a lot of false assumptions.

You'll find similar lack of geographical knowledge in many inner city schools in London, but it's not quite so widespread.

National psychology dear boy.

Yes people, Americans are quite obviously idiots. Please don't let things like all the money and resources we control dissuade you from this simple truth. It's obviously just a big collasal botch-up and will be sorted out fairly soon.

:D

Well, that blew your argument out of the water.

LOL

Money, resources... power corrupts and makes complacent.

Unlike the romans there's no lead pipes to blame though.

keriann wrote:do you even read my posts little bugger?... I said BACKUP for the servers.. where it is store all the character info the databases the monsters info... you understand or your deaf? and then a de-patch for the CLIENT, which is totally de-patchable. if they didn't do a backup of the servers before their patch they are utterly dumb.. eve online ALWAYS does it hell.. some organization people.

and it's widely known, complaints for things losts decays after some time, people don't leave because they lost 1 or 2 items or 1 or 2 levels (which they can get back if they de-patch).

as for all the new skills people try out.. OMG what a biiiig loss! they will reset stanzas again when they try again the next rebalance patch. man you are being purposefully dumb or you born like that?

and 'go back' would mean ADMIT they have made an error. and this has been proven several times in other MMRPG that it's a very appreciated thing in the community.
Attacks against my person, instead of my idea (I guess I am deaf, and dumb. Just need to be blind and named Tommy and I'm set!) Due to that, this will be my last reply.

It's not as simple as restoring from a backup. I'm sorry if I haven't explained that sufficiently, I really don't know how to make it more clear.

I sure would not enjoy it if I had to respec my character every time they issued a patch. That you would just makes us different. *shrug*

Ultimately, the game is developed on an open source platform (see http://www.nevrax.org ), so if it's not what you'd like, go ahead and make one that is. Patch it (because there will be bugs), and revert your patch a few days later. See how fun it is for everyone.

It's important to realize that Europe isn't a nation, but a continent with 41 sovereign nations covering the whole political spectrum.
Socialism is nothing new here, in fact Social democrat parties have been the more popular parties in many of the wealthier countries here for the majority of this century. So it's not really forming, it's been embraced for a very long time.
In Sweden it's common for a worker to work 48 hours a week, in most other countries it's more than that i think. So the difference isn't that big.
The hours here are in the process of becoming even fewer and that's a good thing for the idividual. You should ask your president to try that sometime :)
lyrah68 wrote:Also we get one to TWO WEEKS paid vacation/holiday...I read somewhere that other nations get MONTHS, depended upon the country, but of ALL industrialized nations the US got the LEAST paid time off.
We don't really get our vacation paid, we work a little longer every day and the extra pay accumulates into our vacation salary. In sweden, we have 25 days of 'paid' vacation every year, but we have already done the work for that time throughout the rest of the year.
I don't know how it's done in the US, but if you're actually given those two weeks you should consider yourselves priviliged. ;)
lyrah68 wrote:We in America DO have a work ethic, MANY of us work ourselves danged near to DEATH. Having TWO incomes in ONE family isn't a Luxury here...you do it or learn to like Ramen noodles and peanut butter.
Housewives are pretty much non-existant here, two incomes are typical in families. It's needed in a country where the income tax is at around 33%, V.A.T. is at 25% and at least half of what's left of the salary typically goes to paying the rent. How much tax do you pay?
Even with a huge income, though, people here wants to work so even the wealthiest families has two incomes.

I think the number of follow up patches are speaking for themselves. It takes time to gather feedback, come up with the best solutions without affecting something else, code a patch, test the patch, schedule a time for patching servers with the internet providers and coordinate the servers (The servers are hundreds of miles apart and have to be patched simultaneously).

I have some insight in what's happening, i've worked with tech support and customer service for years (For a big internet provider, DSL and LAN) and to me it doesn't seem like Nevrax is handling things any differently than any other companies would. (And for some reason i 've seen theese same discussions and arguments on boards of the same kind for years and years.)

You don't need Nevrax to tell you to do something more fun in the weekends, just do it ;) and do the gaming afterwards...that way you can have twice the fun :)
