How do I abtain a Refund.
The game has been broken with patch 20. Since Nevrax broke it. How do I recieve a refund if I choose to leave the game?

Well a refund on the box is not possible.
If u have already payed for a certain period of time, eg 1month,3 months,6 months,then unsubscribe, you will be able to play for the remainder of the time period

You can't unfortunately. I feel very sorry for people who paid on the 6 month plan right now. It's pretty disingenous but you could call your credit card company and have atleast a somewhat ethical grounds for doing a charge back on any subscription fees you've already paid. Infact my credit card company called me about Nevrax charging as part of their customer fraud prevention policy. I didn't get quite a straight answer out of the fellow as to what it was about the company that triggered the alert...
You also may want to watch your billing statements. I personally know two people who have been double billed this week. I'm warily looking at my account balance every day now to make sure that they don't bill me after I canceled.

Getting a refund from any MMO monthly fee will prove to be very difficult. Read up on the EULA and it will explain as to why this is.

it's the same as with the subscription of a news paper, you have a contract: you pay, they deliver a certain product

A "certain" product yes. However, not always one that you asked for. It's like, I order a ham sandwich... they give me grilled cheese. However, I deal with that by never ordering more than a month at a time. The only exception to the rule for that so far has been City of Heroes, which I don't play all the time.. but I enjoy alot. Also its very easy to know where they are going with that game, the developers post regularly to the forums and I have even had PM's answered by the lead developer on occasion. I can heartily recommend that game to anyone who enjoys MMO's - I didn't always agree with every change made, but you could really tell that the developers were trying hard to get everything right.
People can make their own contrasts between the above statement and Ryzom, I won't bother to do it for them.

you can contact international customer care, but that's only for europe, you american aren't tutored in that way. as for europe there is in the works an european office against frauds. it is quite hard to sue them giving the eula for now, but soon those eulas in europe will become illegal as 'they do not tutor the interests of the costumers' it is just some baurecratic time, in few years it will be far more difficult do something like this at least in the european community.

As xenofur stated, we agreed to a contract. And that contract also states that the game experience will change. Nevrax is fulfilling its contractual obligations. Simple fact is, we have agreed to a wide open contract and have no recourse except to continue to pay or cease payments.

Just incase anyone was wondering... I never said it was illegal, just unethical.
And as we all know Business Ethics is just as much of an oxymoron as Military Intelligence.
