I'm not leaving ryzom until the playerbase is so low that you can't really do anything in the game. Our guild took a pretty good hit playerwise after the first patch, but the core of us (around 14 players) are still online on a daily basis and are slowly learning new hunting spots/foraging locations. As long as our guild remains strong I will not be leaving the game as I'm still having a good time, albiet not as good as pre patch but nonetheless I'm gonna stick it out.

I think it's interesting that there is a large chunk voting that they are still playing and will continue to do so. I belong to this chunk. I think it's even more interesting that the people who say they have already left are far ounumbered by those who are staying and waiting for some kind of fix and those who are saying they are in it for the long haul. This seems to indicate that all the "the game is broken" and "I'm outta here" posts are being written by a vocal minority.

The game is quite broken IMO. I'm staying till the end, either way, because I love the mechanics and world and graphics SO much. I believe in balance, and most nerfs. I smack whiners left and right. Things now are very broken though ... at 104 fight, mobs half my level kill me. They should hardly be able to touch me. If you include all stats and factors, a level 100 should be orders of magnitude stronger than a 50. By any and all RPG standards, I should be able to completely wipe the floor with mobs that are as high as 80 even.

In every every every other thread since the game opened, I pointed fingers at the vocal minority whenever I saw them. I think all of the outrage on the boards lately is completely justified, though.

I'm going to stick with it in the long run. I never doubted Nevrox's abilities to listen to the players and correct things. They're AMAZING at that. But the one thing that really kills me with frustration is that they're chasing away the player base. If I have no one to trade with or heal, the game dies for me :(

I agree with eschiava.

I have only played about 4 games, beta testing 2 of them. I have never seen one that is perfect once released. Maybe I have been in the wrong ones but they have always had to do updates or xpacs.

But gee give them more that 15 to 30 minutes to do it.. You are not going to please everyone.

I will be sticking around until the end. Stubborn that way. But I love the game so I am very loyal.

If you don't like it than sure leave. Yes things are hard, but at least I have to work harder and find it much more exciting. IMO I was getting a bit bored just hitting a key, reading email on another computer cause that was all there was to do. Now I have to watch my back and my side and keep on my toes.

There are problems but I am sure they are going to fix it in time.

I understand your point of view and respect your opinion.

I want to also add another variable to this equation. Those who have left and NOT returned, either to the games or the Forums. They have not posted pro or con, their vote is not in this poll. Anyone can speculate as to how few or how many, but all in all, they all go into the first category...I left the Game.

At present, roughly 41% Support the Game in its current state
At Present, roughly 59% Are negatively impacted.

It is good that this is a polarized situation. One can affect a positive change from both sides of this issue, if the goal is to affect a positive change. I am not subscribing to the far right or left, but decided that even though I am hurt at losing my Guild and my friends, I really want to see this game made playable again.

The Poll, in its simplicity is intended to be a catalyst for change by acting a sounder for the current situation. It is my hope that NEVRAX and CSR can use this as a source of data directly from its customer base.

A direct read is:
%q1 + %q2 = polarity negative, q3 = polarity positive
CURRENT NEG 59.52%
CURRENT POS = 40.48%

A working ave for players most likely to continue playing is:
%q3 + (50% * %q2)
CURRENT AVE 62.70%

A working ave for players most likely to leave or have left is:
%q1 + (50% * %q2)
CURRENT AVE 37.30%

Admittedly, I didn't take that into account. Good point.

Yeah, I did realize that after I had posted, but decided to leave my post as a bit of polarizing propaganda. As you say:
It is good that this is a polarized situation. One can affect a positive change from both sides of this issue, if the goal is to affect a positive change.
Truth be told, I can play the game either as it is now, which I am currently enjoying--although I am beginning to sense from others' posts that my enjoyment may change when I am 50 levels higher--or if it gets reverted back to how it was before. Personally, right now I am finding combat challenging and quite enjoyable, but I would also be happy if Nevvy swings the balance a bit back towards how it was before, so that more people can enjoy combat, too. I'd rather it not go back to pre-patch; but, if it does, I will live with that, because I do like this game overall, and quite a few of the peeps I've met in-game and in these forums.

But as far as affecting a positive change: I'm all about positivity, and it irks me to see so much anger pasted in these forums. I don't want to shut anybody up or deny anyone their right to their opinion or to express themselves, by far; but what I would like to do is be a catalyst to help people realize that you can express your dislike of something without being rude, crude, or coming off as arrogant or disrespectful. It makes me sad to see people get as upset as they seem to be over a game, because it seems to indicate that they are truly unhappy people. So, I'd like everyone to smile a little more and be happier; that is the true reason I post like I do. Call me a carebear, if you like, but I'd rather be a carebear than a scowling ragus. :p;)

Im not happpy with the changes..... But I will try to continue to play and hope for some better changes to come along....

Just a word of advice to any devs that might read players thoughts and comments: There is a middle ground... You dont have to go to extremes when making changes... ;)

On a side note, If you are leaving for another game, post it here... better that than another poll :-)

I canceled. I can't play the game anymore, its just not fun. Then when I come to these forums to let the developers know my issues, I get nothing but flack from people who want me to believe that I am intellectually inferior because I cannot manage to gain any XP.

Sorry, I don't think I'm a drooling retard. The game as it stands right now is busted.

Anyway, I talked to people in my guild and about 5 of us are going to give EQ2 a try next week. I was supposed to drive up to berekely this weekend and give a friend of mine my ryzom CD's and a buddy key so that she could try the game, but I just got done talking to her on IM and we're both just going to give EQ2 a try next week instead.

So I guess that means me (canceled), 5 of my guild mates (probably will cancel) and atleast one prospective new player who won't sign up.

Frankly there is just too much going on this week for the developers to have released this type of patch. I know plenty of people in-game who are not planning on leaving Ryzom, but already have reserved copies of EQ2. We'll see how long they stick around after they get their first dose of SoE's newest evercrack.

I know, I know... don't let the door hit your arse on the way out. Whatever. I'm so disgusted with the game and certain members of the community right now it doesn't even phase me. Obviously if I have a problem with the game its because I'm a drooling retard and not because there is any sort of issue...

The fanbois with that additude did more to drive me off this weekend than the developers did with this terrible patch. I was gunna wait and see, now I don't even want to.
