Patch 20: Hard Data

Post by gatineau »

After extensive trials, here is what I have found:

Case 1. Level 29 fighter with 540 HP, choice ql 20 long sword, and red choice ql 20 light armour. Weenie kipee wins over half the time by simply chain stunning you. Self heal life not much help. Armour resists all working.

Case 2. Level 19 fighter with about 400 HP, choice ql 20 sword and shield, and blue choice ql 20 heavy armour. Weenie kipee loses every time, and fighter loses 50 to 150 HP. Never stunned. Self heal life not even needed. Armour resists all working.

CONCLUSION: As a result of patch 20, one must wear blue armour :)

P.S. humour aside, these results are real.

I realize heavy armour is superior to light (duh). But, with a view to the difference in levels, I was pleasantly surprised with the results.

One would think that the level difference would have some type of effect in combat. That a lv 29 would dodge more against such a lower level foe. Me thinks that the devs need mini patch 3 .

Good point .... my level 29 averaged one dodge per fight. My level 19 in heavy armour dodges 2 to 4 times per fight (but was not stunned, of course).

Your defense skill is related to your character's level and i'm quite sure that there's an optimal defense-armour relation just like there is between melee skills and weapons.
Your level 29 character might do better with Q29 (More realistically Q30) armour.
Dodge and parry are of course also dependant on the materials you crafted the armour from. :) Harvested mats have much better stats in general than dropped mats.
