Look on the concept art or all the skin female are revealing ingame allthough they wear armor thats supposed to be protective lol.
And the thiiiiin strip of textiles they have to cover their intimate parts lol...

During the 2nd open beta, it was generally accepted that the woman on the cover *was* Jena and that Jena was most likely a Karavan.

Looking closer into it, we all assume this is Jena herself.

Now looking at the Kami side of the story, kamis were sent by Jena to Atys to protect the nature... at least that's what i read.
So Jena is defenetely the godess, it's just a matter of point of view.

I myself do not believe in Karavans, they are strong and deserve our respect but i still won't trust them, their strange cold non-degrading equipments can't be natural, they're not a part of Atys.

in few words, jena is a member of the karavans, the most powerful and technological one. the karavans, jena did create atys, as experiment, as well as the other creatures whithin it, like all the races and the kami too. Probably the Karavan planet died and was totally depleted of natural resources, both biomatter and non biomatter one and they made evolve overly a primitive world into what is atys now to get all the resources they needed.

that's one possibility or... they still have alot of resources but.. theys stopped to reproduce, and they need soldiers to wage an intergalactic war, so they created the races, put a bit of war between them, to make then stronger, and the most adept.... those stronger that represent the basical karavan military power, are upgraded by the karavan into some of them to fight their war as lowly soldiers against something far stronger than the kitins (which are let exist by the karavan just to provide a challenge to the lesser races to make them stronger.. as a sort of training grounds).

Maybe the Karavans are outright not biological, they are robots, or worse nanomachine colonies. like Jena is. Jena is just the name of the karavan collective and is a huge nanomachine formation that covers the entire planet that did shape the life of atys as we know it. The karavan could have been created by her as well and view her as a goddess. the kami too but thinking of her as a more esoteric thing. or she could be something in between the technology and magic, a technomagical-nanomachine colony that envelops the whole atys, and neither the kami or the karavan can understand her fully each one just stopping at one of the aspects of her dual nature.

Also it's possible that the Kami and the Karavan do follow two different goddesses, and the karavans are invaders of Atys, the kamis being native. The kamis venerating Jena, aka atys the spirit of nature that governs it, and the karavan worshipping their OWN Jena, the usurpator that corrupts the minds of the other natives to wrestle control over atys from the nature mother and dominate it tru technology with their J.E.N.A an acronymus for dunno a satellite system to control the world, or some other kind of machine to do the same thing.

ok ok I stop... yes I'm good to make up stories from nothing I dm by too much time.
