Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

If the prices of materials are cheaper then the prices of equipment sold by crafters will be lower due to competition and everyone will have the gear they need.

As a harvester I generally find it more expidient to merely collect mats and tip someone to make my gear (or make it myself). I don't even really need the stupid dapper. I just use it to grind my craft skills.

I definitely agree with you. Nerf the mat prices, so crafters can level faster and therefore have more player made items on sale for the fighters and magic users

It just means that the trade value of mats changes, if the barter value of mats approach the value of dapper then things are successful. There most certainly won't be much importance for money until it starts to approach the value of mats... and... that isn't going to happen until mats become nicely abundant. An "over abundance" can't happen since it just means that more people toy with more craft trees when the barter value of mats drop beneath that of dapper. If the value of mats drops far far below the value of dapper, then mats get used more and more often to kill DP.

But we will also have a lovely 2-class system, with lvl 200+ harvesters who swim in dappers and fighter/mages with almost nothing to spare after they got their equipment. Even though it got quite cheap due to the overabanduance of mats.

Nobody seems to have noticed the "unannounced" change to harvesting, which is going to modify this statement to a certain extent, and which should become apparent to all very shortly. ;)
Cant wait to see the forum posts about "it" when it comes :D

Yea I'd like to know exactly what "unannounced" change you're referring too since the minipatch notes were posted today and specifically say that mat quantities per pull were increased.

just let me disperse the thought that magic is any use for anything but heal agnst mobs one's level after this patch.
MAgic is utterly useless except for heal. There. Understood ?
U cannot earn crap with magic now. Will cast sparklies for dapper. Thats my new motto.

I must agree with shrike, harvesting has taken a steroid injection up the a$$
after it was nerfed in the patch.
It is far too easy, any lifeform with the intelligence to buy a pickaxe can get hoardes of mats and have no downtime now.

Somehow i cannot help but feel that this is all a cruel joke, nevrax gave us this mini patch in the same way u give a kid an empty candy wrapper cleverly folded to look like candy. I have a bad feeling about this :o
Am i supposed to write something witty here ?

Take a look at all the source meters while you extract.
(Especially the bottom one) ;)

Let me guess: Kami Tollerance? Perhaps that's what the Prison thing you pointed out is connected to...
