Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

LOL but MMO stand for mega-multiplayer online.

If you want to play solo, there is no point in playing an mmo.

I am not high lvl yet because I played in the open betas and in FBT and know there is little content past lvl 100. This is my choice and I do not have a lot of time to play anyway so it suits me.

However, it will not suit many people who have more time and initiative to devote to Ryzom. There is nothing "wrong" with those who want to level. That is, in fact, one of the very few things to do on Atys. There is only 2 other things to do other than level...that is travel/sightsee and do missions. In order to travel one must be of reasonable lvl and missions require solo killing. Thus, in order to be able to do any of these 3 things it must be properly balanced.

Balance is not another word for nerf...or shouldn't be. Just because people are leveling faster than you are prepared for does not mean they should stop leveling. It means the developers need to add CONTENT so that there is anything else to do if one would choose to. Making progress in a game extremely difficult will not "make the game last longer" or "slow down people's leveling". It will make them find something else fun to do besides play Ryzom.

You don't want people to find something else fun to do. You want them to think Ryzom is fun. Heck, entertainment is cheap and easy. Ryzom is not cheap, nor is it easy. Some think others level too fast but it is really just that the game needs to fix some long standing bugs (like blind). Remaking a skill is not necessary. The game was fine as it was, it just needs devs to fix existing bugs and stop messing around with entire skill vs other skills.

Do what you promised nevrax and NOTHING more. If it isn't broken, don't mess with it. Add content, don't play with balance. Fix existing bugs don't overcompensate before the bugs are fixed. Stop slowing things down because the fun is dwindling. Instead, rev up your creativity machine and create content. Work out the bugs with mektoub mounts so they fly in patch 2. That should keep you devs so busy that you won't have time to mess with so-called "balance issues". Fire up the raid engine more often so your high levels will have another fun thing to do. Create a way for all members of a raid party to get xp. These are the things that will make your game last, not slowing xp and making things very difficult.

Never stop complaining...er, suggesting :)

I did laugh sorry. I am looking for a good game and found Rysom. I simply would like balance for soloers. I see people grouping and liking it, but the glory would be on a single person who thought threw and carefully plans his / her missions and carries them out successfully with no backup...that needs rewards my friend. :D Not bashing grouping people or anything, but fact is a soloer is not really anti social misfit....we may have kids to put to bed or rl things occur.....the game needs to help these folks out as well as the power gamer or guild groupers. :D

I'll agree with that. While I personally prefer to group, that option is not always available to me. If i'm playing odd hours of the day & guildies aren't on (whom I generally group with) I would like to be able to solo. I could ask in the region if there are any groups yes, and have & will continue to do so.

None the less, solo options should be available. I see the bonus going solo as you get all the loot & experience. You might not get as much, but it's all yours.

I'm seeing a lot of unknown players posting here. That's great, no matter what their comments are! But please, don't let the flaming and trolling ruin another thread.

First i got to say im amazed at Raynes last post...

I do agree a good mmorpg should support soloer but you have to keep in mind that Ryzom is a group PvP oriented game. PvE games are a better option for the soloer. You should still be able to solo, but giving rewards to soloers would be REALLY bad for this type of game. The content is all directed toward group play.

Soloing should be an option to lvl at the same rythm or a bit slower then grouping. Lot's of mmorpg are non-solo-able, the problems with those is when your not able to find a group.

Good soloing in a mmorpg needs good thinking, its normal to die a lot while soloing, eventually you'll always find the perfect mob to lvl at X lvl, if theres nothing then there is a problem. It is not the case for people lvl 50 and bellow. If it is for higher lvl, just start a topic, dont flame, state the problems and, if you can, possible fixes. If people agree with you the devs are gonna change the game. For what ive seen they always listen to the community and they are working really fast.

Stop *****ing and acting like kids.....

What did I do? The comment was made that if people wanted a rpg, then go play an rpg. I responded that it was funny that people are being told that a MMORPG is not an rpg. Then it was posted that MMO stood for something, and I corrected it. Not sure why that is causing such a fit.

MMORPG : Mega-Multiplayer-Online Role-Playing Game
RPG : Role Playing Game

If you want to play solo all the time you can forget the Mega-Multiplayer-Online aspect of RPG. There are awsome RPG out there, and if I wanted to play solo, i would definitly play one of them. Playing MMORPG solo resume in one thing : grinding.
