DEV and GM opinions

Post by amitst »

Obviously noone of them care.
Cereste has not posted a single response or comment to the hate on these bboards.

Additionally there are many, many GM....none of whom seem to even care about the dieing player base.

I think if all of them post a comment here it would help alot, I might even be tempted to resuscribe.

But they wont, because their hands our tied and they have no spines.

Thanks all for playing

They're busy working on fixes. Leave them be. I have faith in them as they have proved that they do listen.

There have been posts by Cerest and other CSR's. Mostly to stem some of the tide of ugliness that was going on in some threads that degenerated into personal attacks and circular arguments. Speaking to GM's in game it was obvious that they were sympathetic (powerless and unprepared too). The Nevrax team gave us some indications of their intentions via the story and patch notes posted. The test servers were available for some to guage the fruits of their efforts. The flaws, shortcommings or the extreme swing of the ease-o-meter were commented on by those fortunate enough to have access to and willing to bother testing. Despite the ranting, petitioning, begging and threats Patch 1 was implemented. I am guessing it was easiler to implement and patch later than it was to make adjustments on the fly.

I was part of Open Beta so I didn't get the fancy title and I didn't preorder to get the fancy amulet, so I didn't have access to the test server. I assumed that the rants, petitioning, threats and drivel that flooded the forums were overly exaggerated. Now that I had a chance to play with Patch 1, I find myself unable to solo, unable to harvest without draining my HP and Focus pools, and can't seem to overcome the 435k experience debt I racked up prior to the patch (my fault on that one... I was trying to get to Zorai before the patch but the "cleaner mobs" and the "GM minions" got us). I can't explore to find the 42MB of changes made to Trykerland because I can't fight my way past the goari outside Fairhaven. Now I am waiting for the Patch 1a.

I started a new character just for something to do. Trying to forget that I have a 52 melee, 92 lake forage character hiding out in Fairhaven. My newbie character is leveling well. The weaning yubos are a challenge but I bring them down. The welcomer missions are back. I'm on "kill a weanie goari" but the izams won't leave one alive for me. Ahh, to be young and naive of what awaits me on the mainland.

People don't like change but they like a challenge. Its not a levelfest anymore and the old "expliots" are gone. You can't play the game with the same tatics. People protested and when they didn't get the answers they wanted to hear they lashed out at each other. Seems so commonplace now. Definitely not fun or constructive.

I can't speak for the "playerbase" or the "devs" (even though I pretended that I can). I find that I really do like this game and I'm not willing to abandon it as quickly as some. I lost one MMORG already and that loss hurts. I lost a lot of good guildmates and even friends.

I hope I'll be seeing y'all soon in-game. 52 melee LFG!

There are people at that company that do not know jack sh*t about coding software so they AREN'T too busy to tell us WTF is going on. Yes, the dev's are coding, good dev's, that's what they do. But they've got project managers and hell, a CEO that should know what the dev's are working on and can relay that.

Patch 1 was total sh*t because of pathetic project management and those project managers should be standing in the unemployment line this morning for the CRAP they have caused Nevrax. Not your designers, not the people with the vision of the game, but the people responsible for managing the logistics of testing and release. And if they are insane enough to have a developer managing that, they need to get a clue and hire a decent project manager that is up to the task because a developer should worry about code not the other crap.
