Now i know you cant compare anythgin to real life, but lets just for fun make an analogy(false argument),

if you were out hunting animals in somewhere (where there is animals at your level), would it be easier for you to pick off(taunt) a say wilderbeast(capyri/raspal) from a herd and kill it, or try and take on a tiger(gingo/ragus) let alone many aggro tigers,
hmm even a small tiger i think would be harder to kill than a herd herbeviour, (lesson dont attack tigers).

now i know you cant compare real life (as i can guess) to a game but think about it please, the new patch will change things, therefore IT WILL BE DIFFERENT than before so learn again what you can kill or not (its not that hard to relearn somethign is it?)

Fix Harvest and the rest i can live with .

If noone harvest's then the game will die unless you make armour and weapons drop from mobs .

Harvesting to me is a byproduct of what i need to craft so by making harvest a painful experience means i will no longer craft so thats 2 skills lost .

As soon as i can no longer make my own armour and weapons for my fight/mage lvl there will be 2 more skills lost .

Now i end up with no skills to even consider worth the effort and why ? because Harvest which is only a byproduct of the game needed to Craft the items other players need to progress has been made into a dull and boring strugle .

As for the mobs well i personaly think its a challenge now . I also thoght that side of the game was way too easy . I havnt yet strugled with the dodge problem others seem to have but maybe thats because to what i enchanted my weapon with .

TBH i have read half the replies to this thread and got bored...what are you ppl on? all you that like this patch have something missing IMHO. the stregnth of some of these mobs is just stupid. if you die its not fun. i dont want to go power lvl'ing i just plod along and have fun with my friends. the fact that my friends are in a different continent means at this rate i will take the whole 8 years to get down to them. i dont want to be abel to run into a high lvl mob and kill everything i just want some sensible xp from some sensible kills and skills usage. i have sat here and on WoR and defended this game and now i just cant be arsed.OK i didnt enjoy last night at all. i found it not only too hard to solo (which sometimes it is nice to able to solo no matter what ppl say) but i got into a team of lvl80+ ppl. there was six of us all mid range chr's and the person who was pulling kept getting killed (just as well that i had heal 129 points) and at one time two scarey cloppers came instead of one and we all died...all of us...in seconds. where as before, you could of struggled and killed them, now post patch, you just all get killed. the group i was with had a huge DP which it took 45 minutes to get rid of. the thing is there was all this work for just 136 xp (read that again if you want)
i also spent a while harvesting and using q90 extraction i never got above q45 mats so there fore no real xp (im lvl 79 harvest and i worked/grinded hard to get my q100 and now even tho i am a higher lvl now i get q90 only)
so creatures that i CAN kill in a med to large group give no xp and the ones that give good xp will kill you. i now dont think that i will carry on playing this game...games are supposed to be fun and that just wasnt fun. i think i shall now be cancelling my account as i have no intrest in this anymore. thank you and goodbye.

Whiners whingers, and the rest
my god its getting boring listening to the constant whining.

The new patch.....Love it!, i never ever tried fighting, so i crafted myself a trusty pike form which i harvested the mats for and went to work on my fighting. i was a little apprehensive due to all the complaining that had been done... so off i went *BAM* 900xp one hit...oh...
fine i thought, i must jhust have been lucky, so i tried again..
no its not got suddenly hard or difficult...its just a normal game where you have a learning curve and because people could go out and solo easy and now cant, they have to re-learn theyre styles. theyre complaining. fun...much fun...
i got to re-choose my stanzas as i made some bad choices at the start. and saved me a re-roll and a whole lotta time.

Good on you nevrax and the devs. fantastic job, looks nice, magic amps look well, harvesting doesnt seem THAT bad, and combat is good.

Keep up the good work..

btw...anyone hear that phrase. "if you havnt got anything good to say dont say anything at all?"....live and learn by it, you'll be much happier people.

Sorry but, its just the constant whining in the forums, with people complaining. The patch isnt bad at all, i dont really know what it was like before, i played other games, lin2, eve, guildwars, AO, UO, ISland of kesmai (kudos to anyone that has played this), and plenty more.
And ryzom is still holding above those, the fact that you dont have to specialize in just one skill, it seriously rocks in that aspect.
the graphics are good, it runs smoothly, the gm's help constantly. the people at nevraz actually do listen.

Just give it a chance, Sure you couldnt do things that you could before, but re-learn. try to look at it as a head start, sure the mobs might be a lot tougher now, but think of people who are starting out. imagine doing all that again?

I have no problems with the patch either, but maybe that's because I'm not very high level. It seems to be hitting the 1337 d00ds harder than most.

I had really good fun last night ranging out from Yrk sussing out what had changed. It's all shiny and new again (or was that the increased screen res?). Even more wary of gingos now, but it'd be boring if you could roam freely without any danger.

Yes! The patch is a part of the plot in the game!
The times ahed are getting harder. This is something we have to live whit! Atleast for now...
Before I tought the only worthy kills was 3k ones, tought if I killed harder foes I should have more xp, but this patch made the 3k kills something I fear! I shall from now one go for 1k since that is something I can handle! (See the 3K kills like we saw Supreme mats. Once easy to get. But no more!)
I shall focus more on the Guild-play. Getting an even Stronger group than wa are now. Think that will ture the tide.

Yay, good patch. Atys bites back. With all the shouting and whining I ventured away from the trainers with trepidation, expecting to be pounced on by yubos behind every bush. Felt great, was really exciting. Picked my prey carefully, made sure I was safely away from any others who might join in, and struck. Ow, they do hit harder, I only dodge 1 time in 8 instead of 2 out of 3. Cool, have to be careful, guess 3k exp gonna be harder to find, as it should be. So I was careful, I lowered my dp from before the patch, and I didnt get killed. Ryzom revitalised, Yay!

Hello from old Island of Kesmai player ;-) ... lol i dont know all experienced players i hear have tested patch tryed new aproachs and found a way to do same or even better ..

I'm not happy with some things in patch but BUT overall it is one of biggest changes and it when balanced will make game better i think.

So i LIKE path whatever people say but i wish FAST fix on harvesting, and experience from melee solo/group..

Problem is that it balanced gameplay but not take account of fun factor, removing in one single step, fast leveling with blind exploit, btw that was a way too long time online and adding harder monsters in same moment created impression for players they hit a wall. Programers LISTEN to players and many things in patch are from players feedback and are very postive. monsters have less hit points but hit for more .. that is ok ,, but fix need to give more xp for harder effect and there need to be items primary armours now need to protect for more !!

" By research of atysian crafters new armours are made adequate to protect incrased dangers from wildlife and will save your life ..."

Sincery if there is 3 k experience cap it was not good having to play all time in groups hitting this cap. still i as lv 150 lv fighter can solo for 1,5 k but i need to find new animals to hunt .. herbivores are MUCH easier then carnivores and now give more experience but people dont even try to go in zones that are apropriate levels they all like blind go to same places where they was exploiting blind and no surprise get massacred.

Experience gain is not reflecting difficolty of monsters after changes.

DP problem people die too easy now and on higher levels with wrong skills too high it is hard to getrid of DP a way too hard, somone lv 80 fighter die and try to clear his experience with lv 40 harvest skill wil get frustrated and with fighting skill he dont know what to kill to remove that DP..

In times of mass Death like this one DP need to be lowered so people can try new aproach and find its way without too much downtime recovering DP.

Im hoping that fast fix will get game back in "love" and learn people tthat decide when patch go live to listen more to replyfrom betatesters ...
