Ryzom Targeting is Confused

Here's one for yas that I discovered in KL while trying to target Terminator Kipucka. I target (click on) the Terminator and then start walking closer to the red x disappears on my spell indicating that that spell is within range.

However, trying to use the spell tells me that I am not close enough. Seems the two means used to measure distance are not agreeing one another. Not particularly annoying but thought someone would appreciate knowing.
