Good evening everyone.
After installing I have had repeated issues with the following message.
"Access Violation exception generated at 0x6963A57A, thread attempts to read at 0x14.
The thread attempted to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access."
Updated drivers , direct X etc , running a GE Force 5200,
Any one else having the same issues.
The only change "positively" I have had is by reducing the clock speed of the board.
This has meant I can log in and play for about an hour as opposed to less than 10 minutes.
Great game though really enjoying it .. !!
regards
Thrym
Access Violation exception
Re: Access Violation exception
yeah I have the same issue (Geforce6800 256mb)
sometimes i can play for hours, sometimes it crashes every 2 minutes.
It seems slightly better since the last patch but I'm not sure if thats coincidence or not.

Re: Access Violation exception
check your harddisk(s), check your memory, ..
If you are using an "old" computer some hardware problems on your mainboard or cpu can cause these problems to.
I've had 1000s of crashes in beta, and I know the feeling, crashing every few min. It was untill I replaced my mainboard and cpu everything suddenly got resolved. I didn't have one single crash in the last 2 months!

Re: Access Violation exception
another good idea is if you run with dual ram blocks switch sockets on em. this has worked for me haavent had a crash since the switch (used to have atleast 1 a hour). This may be explained to bad sectors on 1 of the ram blocks
Re: Access Violation exception
Try switching the sound off. When the game loads don't move for like 3 minutes anf after that slowly turn around. Sounds really stupid but it works. Try it out, it is simple to try and should fix access violation at least for those who get it in Trycker.

Re: Access Violation exception
Little tip for you that I found whilst trying to play swg one time. I found that if I turned my sound off the game would load up and play fine but if I turned it on I would crash all the time and could barely load the game up.
There were quite a few of us getting the same problem so I started to fish around a bit and see what most of us had in common. We had good video cards all with 256mb of memory. I couldn't for the life of me think what was going on until one of the devs told us to turn down our graphics apertures to 128mb in the bios. Low and behold the moment I did what he said I could play with sound on AND not crash. He then went on to tell us a whole load of gobbledygook in computer language why this would happen which I most certainly did not understand. All I cared about was that now my game loaded up with no crashing.
Just something for you to try.

I had the same problem, the game would crash at least every 10mins. In my case I found it to be a dodgy memory stick. If your still having problems go to http://www.memtest86.com/ and download the tester program. This will thoroughly test your memory, not like the poxy test given at boot.
