I saw a few obvious html errors, but getting a site to have no errors at all at a validation page isn't that important. Just depends on how strict you want your code to be, sometimes its totally unimportant.

Yeah I suppose you guys are right... why bother putting in the extra effort to do things right the first time around. In hindsight I guess my main point about getting help from the CSRs and community before they push things live is irrelevant too, since that would also require actually caring about putting in a little more effort as well.

It's a sad fact of life that there is no html generator out there that produces 100% correct code, and hardly a hand coder who does either.

It's simply not cost effective in most situations to put in the extra effort.
Producing a site with 100% vaild css and html is easy for any semi pro web designer to do. it is alot of errors compared to most professional websites because no professional designer would release a site with any errors if they take theyre job seriously. Because professional sites are professionally made and paid for. This appears to have been done by someone that doesnt understand basics in webdesign..

It reminds me of private server, one or 2 people trying to do everything, theyre intension is good but sacrificing quality

maybe if they did a competition for the website

And I think this is exactly the reason. The small playerbase, the low subscription fees, I don't think they have many people.

And with this in mind my previous comments were quite unfair aswell. I apologize for them. It is indeed just a handful of people trying their best and getting supported by another handful volunteers. I think it is amazing, they have found time at all for those things.

But like you said, they should take the help from the community and maybe wait for feedback a day or two before firing this thing live. Most of us are no experts either, but those 2 or 3 who are have valuable hints.

I´ve just compared the three website versions to each other and I think that the issue with "the best French MMORPG" is (again) just a problem of translation.
On the French and German site the wording is more in the sense of:
"The best, French developed MMORPG...", or "the best MMORPG originating in France (yet)...".
Maybe the sentence could be rephrased accordingly.

For I truly think that this would fit better and I guess that is what was intended all along.

I don't know why they focus so heavily on the fact that it's French. Well, maybe I do know, but I don't like the reason I'm thinking of so I'm setting it aside.

Anyway, how many heads does Winch Gate expect that fact to turn? How many downloads and/or subscriptions is it going to attract? Zero.

Ryzom's selling point is that it's a sandbox game. Freedom-centric, RP-encouraged, semi-dynamic, skill-based, and it has the best harvesting and crafting in the entire industry bar none.

So...I don't mean to be egotistical but for the love of all that is good and holy, implement my wording changes already!
