New Harvest Message

OK< maybe I'm getting old, or maybe not paying often enough, but I don't remember this one:

"No raw materials as specified present in the area AND in this weather."

AND ? Now I had oft asked if we could get a message that tells us not to sit around all bloody day waiting for weather when it's already dug and this would appear to be it.....is it new .... or is it alzheimers ?

I have seen that message for quite a while down in PR. Mind you, I have only been seriously digging PR for about a year.

Ive never seen that message.... Will have to check tomorrow when I can get on.

What's quite a while ? Consider that my Ryzom folder has a 2003 date

Of the 9 Ryzom oldie types I have asked in game, one said it's new, the other 8 never seen it.

My Ryzom folder has an October 16, 2008 date on it, mostly because I did a huge update to my gaming system, and found that I could not use the old client, but had to get the new one.

However, I have been digging in PR since the servers went live in August 2008, and I have seen that message, I beleive starting in January of this year. Seven months seems like an eternity for us younger folk

I don't remember it being there a long time ago, but I have seen it a lot since I started digging again. I can tell you that it doesn't mean that the supreme or excellent is gone, so you still have to sit around waiting to find out.

It may just mean that the PR Weather issue was finally fixed.
Remember? It sometimes showed "weather is fair" when raining and vice versa.
Could be this was fixed and so we finally get the correct messages down there too.
Just speculating.

Raining underground ? Are you referring to "sap storm" which graphically looks like rain ?

Yes and no.

Didn´t you notice yet?
When there´s rainy weather on the surface, it begins to dribble from the ceiling underground. The rainwater leaks through the bark, down into the Prime Roots.
So the weather down there still corresponds to that on the surface and the "Sap Storm" is the equivalent of "stormy weather" upside.

But the weather messages in the map weren´t always correct in PR. They appeared to be switched sometimes. So it did show "clear Weather" when it was dripping in rivulets from the ceiling, and "rainy" when there was none.
In exact opposition to the graphics on screen.

I find the map to be wrong everywhere.

One, the season changes don't show up till well after the season changes actually occur. I would guess part of this is the time between character syncs w/ server but even after forcing a sync (/sleep 5 command) I find it still wrong.

Same thing w/ weather......what we see as weather, hear as weather, map weather an dig weather are in sync as often as not.

As for the rain upstairs = sap storm, no I haven't noticed. I have often run down from KoD for example while it's pouring in KoD and found no sap storm below.
