But loosing just one packer to any danger, would drag into a recovery mission of the merchandise and just complicate matters further.
I addition to putting quite some pressure on those who´d like to sell things, to be at their destination in time.
If the mobs along the roads were tweeked for longer respawn times, to allow for temporary clearing of roads, then caravans would be more possible. Instead of a once a week move maybe once a month move/trek. After all regular treks are appreciated by new players and guilds already do the treks anyway, so why wouldn't they be able to be combined? Pyr has the best open air market of any city imo... but they all have pluses

The economy is currently majorly fubared due to the physical separation of market levels, low player population, lack of real worth to a third of mats (basics, which only grinders really buy) along with the resulting depression that buy-cheapest-mats-to-lvl brings to the economy..

As long as the Guilds are kept from dragging down prices or (the horror) giving away new items for free.. and using the markets as recruiting grounds, should work greatly for all.

I really like the player market idea, and the fact its going to be held on a regular basis means i might actually get to it sometime :)

I'd be willing to invest some DP into trek caravans across the place. While having them in the capitals is a great idea, having them at the cities within the regions also works.

For a level 50 character, getting to dyron or thesos is quite the adventure. Probably more so than trekking to the other regions through 250 aggro zones.

So I'd say it was a success..? I enjoyed seeing people getting what they were looking for while having friendly chit-chat. And I loved the fact that not only bored "vets" but newer players came there and got what they needed. Looking forward to next one :)

Yes, I'd say it was pretty nice.
The first trade fair had a good turnout, with 8 crafters and about as many customers. Although offer seems to be higher than demand at the moment, there is no doubt the trade fair responds to a need, and allows for a nice level of social interaction. Lower-level crafters (most notably jewel crafter Mioshani) were able to proudly sell their work publicly.

Overall, the meeting was loose and friendly, even a little disorganized due to homins not always having all materials at hand, especially when it came to Amplifier crafting. But all demands were met in the end.

The next trade fair will take place in Fairhaven again, and its duration will be cut to a single Atys day. Location of the following fair(s) will be discussed then. We are hoping to start thinking about a price grid in the meanwhile, and will aim to establish a Dapper standard for trades." - source
Next trade fair to be held in Fairhaven, Saturday, August 15, 2009, between 20:00GMT and 21:00GMT.
