If players voices counted at all they would have fixed affys by now.
Why? It didn't make it to the top ten on the feedback forum and judging by the discussion on this forum there really isn't any consensus about how Affy's should work...

It's nice that I'm not alone in feeling this, and very sad at the same time... :/

imo the problem is, that there is absolutely NO feedback from the devs. just some info from time to time anouncing this and that... why not inform us on a weekly schedule (as in Anarchy Online for example), what the team is working on. just a little bit of information...

I, as much as anyone else, would like to have a better idea where the dev's are taking the game. Honestly though, regular updates are going to cause just as much dramma, and probally more, than we are seeing now on the forums.

I do like the voting system we are using, even if it's not perfect, it gives both us the players and the dev's a better idea of what the player base as a whole really wants. It's easy to get excited when somone is posting ideas in a forum thread, but it's a lot harder to argue with a vote count. For all it's faults, I would like to see a game with a better system.

Some of us consider drama, content. :p Seriously though, at least it would show a sign of life. Both game and forums seem pretty dead these days, at least for Arispotle. :(

Agree. Every mmo around give people news about what's going on. Instead seems they love surprising us.
The problem is that surprises will not give any chance to increase populations. Noone wanna start playing a game where there is no clue on what's the direction.

About feedback (and) roleplay site, seems the devs love opensource, the problem with redmine is that it is a 'dev' tool really and not something you can present to a community of gamers, unless the players are all devs, of course. Personally i am a developer but i really dislike the beavhiour of the roleplay forum, even not being a roleplayer.

Probably this is due to conserve dev power for something else. If they are few people we can't blame them trying to make things to be able to listen easier.

My concerns are really that they seems treating Ryzom just as an opensource project. Ryzom API is a clear example of this attitude.

Personally i didn't created a third account in the feedback site. it's enough for me to have registered another account in the roleplay forum.
I will not post anything there. I already sent so many suggestions via tickets, as most you, that I really don't feel doing more.
I pay to play the game, not to develop it.

Also, you can't rely on a community voting, expecially if the community is so small. Friends and friends of friends will win any vote.

Personally, i think one from the dev team should take the responsibility to be the Game Director, decide what to do, announce what's the plan and just do it, advertising anything they planned on the appropriate sites. That doesn't means not listening the community, but simply making fast decisions and announcing them properly.

That's just my opinion.

I agree on all cases, unfortunatly. I am just saying after some of the epic forum wars I have seen in such games as Vanguard and SWG that I really can't blame the dev's for keeping quiet.

Hmhm, I must say that I quite like the idea of having at least small say in what is comming into the game and heloing it come along by suggesting ideas.
Its done all over the scene.

So we´re not "developing" the game, we´re helping with ideas.
And that is a privilege I´d gladly pay for.

See it as you want, it Is an example of players having a hand in the game creation process. That´s undisputable. However small this hand may be.

I for one just hope that this is the last incident of such unfortunate behavior from "up above" and not the beginning of more like this to come.
Killing discussions is never good.
No matter if the case is already decided or not.

Acridiel, i didn't said i am against suggesting. As I said I did a lot in the past.
I simply don't like the idea to have 3 different registrations when there is a well done ticket system ingame (only bug is you don't get in return the ref number for future reference and a way to say 'closed' or 'still opened'). The fact there is a voting system is not a good thing, in my opinion.

But I was always happy to help with ideas.

Unfortunately the first idea that almost everyone agreed now and in the past in hundreds of posts, is still undone: keep the community informed!
