Has Ryzom ever gone to an E3 Electronic Entertainment show ?
Have it ever gone to a similar one ?
If so, when was the last time ?
If not, why not start planning to do so ?

Yes it has, but the financial matters proved too great an obstacle for that to happen again after, 04 and 05. Sadly.
A booth there isn´t exactly cheap. I know from personal experience in Germany. They want a good portion of money, even for chairs... -.-
On my page, you can find some Videos from these occasions.
(Official Videos Link) Or on Youtube.

Hahaha.. yeah, I think I remember a vid or picture with the Jena twins .. Ahh, we had such high ambitions at one time.. time to reclaim that vigor!
(though, yeah, I think E3 wouldn't be a good choice right now... not in the state the game is in (beautiful, wonderful, but dated and not significantly changed over the last half decade)).
Peace,
- Sui

Because of what you guys said, it kind makes me wonder what the Ryzom owner is doing/planning in terms of publicity. So far we have only seen patch and community calls/favors.
Selling a product without advertisement is a sure way to die.

Seriously, this has been brought up way too many times before... How would you propose they advertise the game right now? Word of mouth is more effective than generic advertising. When you advertise, you want to drill in a specific niche vector to get the product into the subconscious of the populace. Right now, Ryzom doesn't really have that. The folks working on the game are trying to get there, it seems, but they are not there yet. Generic advertising would be an unneeded drain on resources, particularly with all the other big name games out and overall glut of the market.
And don't think they aren't advertising, just not the type that everyone seems to bring up. The API contest is their biggest advertising campaign right now, I think. Once they get the Animation initiative going, that will be a successful niche to market, but it doesn't seem viable right now.
Sorry, I don't mean to come down on you, but seeing things like "Selling a product without advertisement is a sure way to die." gets under my skin sometimes, cause it's not really a helpful statement.
Step 1: Get the game marketable again.
Step 2: Market the game.
My thought is they are still catching up on Step 1 from the lack of effort/action of previous owners.
Peace,
- Sui

Don't worry you did not offend me. I was in a bad mood on that day. So I am the one in fault here.suib0m wrote:Seriously, this has been brought up way too many times before...
